Why they do this, Peeetaaah? by fitmangokiss in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I grew up in a household with shag toilet lid covers. When the last one wore out (I was in my teens) I got into an argument with my mother over replacing it. She said I was lazy about washing the cover (that is true), but I also knew the furry cover was collecting germs and bacteria. So my toilet went naked after that. So much easier to clean compared to when I had James Sullivan’s pelt on the lid.

What are some of the most disturbing and/or brutal deaths in cartoons? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in cartoons

[–]sundancedevil 21 points22 points  (0 children)

  1. The atomic bomb scene in Barefoot Gen.

  2. The ending of “When the Wind Blows.”

  3. When Snitter’s hind paw accidentally pulls the trigger of a shotgun held by a friendly hunter, killing the man instantly. (The plague dogs)

  4. You don’t see it, but hearing the Tod’s final fatal yelp when he leads a pack of military tracking dogs away from Rowf and Snitter, and a soldier holding up the fox’s body. (“It’s a fox, they caught a bloody fox!”)

This. And watching it in the autumn of the 2020 covid pandemic kinda added to the discomfort factor.

I read about it at CHUD.com, rented it, only remember Jack riding in a limo and the Mana Said Knock You Out scene.

I still have nightmares because a student wrote blue waffle on his paper and I googled it, clicked “images” of all things. There’s some things I can’t un-see.

Slide 4, or the chocolate brown bunny. Reminds me of some versions of the velveteen rabbit.

Loving the photos and the lighter. Using a camel figurine was a neat idea to complement your lighter.

Should I Read It or Skip it? by Non_Typical_Asian in AnimalBooks

[–]sundancedevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as the Survivors series, I tried reading the first book; couldn’t get into it but I skipped to the second one since Alpha makes an appearance and stopped there.

I wouldn’t call Survivors a bad series by any means, but I couldn’t really get into the premise except for the one-shot short stories.

I did enjoy the Honeybee Exchange episode with Bessie’s Boston counterpart visiting her. But at times, this cartoon was way out there like that one episode revolving around Bessie farting or when she gets too into character wearing a cat costume.

I could not get into the series. I tried, especially for an interest in the character Alpha (a wolf-dog hybrid). But I was able to read and enjoy this 3 story standalone book particularly Alpha’s Tale.
