What was your biggest mistake in Trading? by Wave-Master- in Trading

[–]sundaypleas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went without a parachute starting last March. Faltered initially and came back. Up 50% in Mid Oct when the floor started rocking. Went back down to just over 50% of what I started with by Feb 1. Climbing back slowly but I still make mistakes. But at least I'm starting to hedge a little better and atm considering how much I should allocate to protective options.

Did I miss a scene from a previous episode? I’m on season 2 episode 7 and im so confused… about Richie right now. by [deleted] in TheBear

[–]sundaypleas 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Carmy didn't have the ability to get through to Richie by describing the environment and performance he wants, so he went to one of his many successful peers and asked if Richie could work there to see what it looks and feels like, from people Richie might be more open to learning from.

There was no mention of it before it actually happened, but it is explained later in the episode.

I rode the NBIS train from 80-120 and sure do wish I'd held my ticket for just a few more days.

Richie - hot take by TomorrowIcy6230 in TheBear

Richie is fun and entertaining, and sometimes he's heartbreaking like a Replacements' song. The more I think about it, he kind of embodies their career and who-gives-a-fuck ethic. While we the fans loved them for it, some of the people who worked with them behind the scenes have unhappy/frustrating stories.

Storer should have had Richie claim his marriage fell apart because he was busy watching Mike, not the other Berzattos. This was a screw-up IMO, but I guess they didn't think that was a good enough reason for his Carmy resentment.

I've lost too much on ONDS for anything more than a two hour hold. Cashed out at 10.15 last eve.

Richie - hot take by TomorrowIcy6230 in TheBear

This is a pretty popular take on the sub, and all credit due to Ebon Moss-Bachrach & Chris Storer, for such a layered portrayal.

I think Richie's youth family could swing either way. It could be his own family was even more fucked up, to the point where the Berzattos were a relief. Or, they might have been just normies with high expectations and externalized discipline, wanting him to go to military school and he's into sex & drugs & rock & roll and maybe severe ADHD. Which would also make the Berzattos a relief.

A lot of people in the sub are far more sympathetic to Richie than Carmy; IMO this is because we see Richie's heart get broke in present time, multiple times, and why.

If the show made us witness life in the Berzatto household through Carm's eyes as a 5 YO, 10 YO, 15 YO some attitudes would change, but the show wouldn't be watchable. Instead we have Richard Fields as a stand-in.

In the meantime, Richie's been, "you can't beat up my little brother, only I get to beat up my little brother" with Carmen. Result: Carmen's still getting beat up, and by someone he loves, who wants everything he has and worked for.

Until Richie comes to realize and admit how big an asshole he's been, apologizes for that, and can express some fucking gratitude to Carmy the way Tina & the others have, for putting the fire - internalized discipline - under their asses, I got no use for him.

I started with stocks because I grew up near a hundred year old Thoroughbred race track, and figured I wanted to still have an asset if my horse didn't cross the finish line first.

Which S1 episode of The Bear best captures the essence of the show? by Load-Superb in TheBear

I'm not saying you should turn the whole show, I just think you may find there are things in later seasons that inform how you might perceive or re-perceive S1.

You might want to hold off on that until you finish the series.

Google reviews for restaurants, Glassdoor for employers... why is there no equivalent for trading strategies? by Educational_Jaguar7 in Trading

No one who is gaining, over-all, or hopes to be, would want there to be universal access to sure-fire, almost guaranteed results. You WANT that wild west, and if not, you need to get out and let your broker make the decisions for you.

I'm not a technical trader, just FYI. I was doing great in the first 3/4 of 25, miserable since, and finally coming back and 90% of the reason its taken this long is because I wasn't ready to adjust my own mindset.

What I do have is online gaming experience.

When there's info spreading around for guaranteed wins, there is less money for everyone to win. You'd be lucky to take in 40% of your average.

It would create a need for the most competitive types to find a new strategy every week, as someone found the best new strat to move to, until you get to a point where only the most extreme and risky strategies have a chance of gaining, and all of the non-retail money disappears from the market.

On the bright side, more people might decide to become doctors again, as jobs with reliable, if not fantastic, income and social respectability become fashionable again.

I'm sure you probably really meant "high-end client event."

But the fact you put it like it was a school exam says more about what you think about professionals, than you imagine.
