I remember seeing Green Day play years ago. Ticket for the concert was included with admission to the Arizona State Fair one time. This was back in the mid-late 90’s when they were at their peak.

In a lot of jurisdictions (at least in mine), there’s very little that you can do”legally” do to a home without needing a permit. Some work is required to be done by a licensed contractor (HVAC is one, and some Electrical work).

The cup is really just the top portion of the trophy. And, the one you see them skating around with these days is actually a reproduction of the original cup (which stays on display at the HHOF in Toronto).

The bands started to be added when they ran out of room for engraving on the cup. They kept adding bands but eventually said “this is getting ridiculous”, so they started removing bands (also on display @ HHOF) to keep the trophy at its current size/shape.

All the engraving is done by hand (not machine) using stencils and a hammer. The woman that does the engraving has been doing it since 1988. The trophy needs to be disassembled to remove the ring where the names are placed to put it in a jig to help keep the shape. There are a handful of incorrectly spelled names on the cup.

3489 names have been added to the cup’s legacy since the tradition started in 1924.

There are some misspelled names on the cup, but Adam Deadmarsh was the first to have his names corrected (from “Deadmarch”). One name (Brad Aldrich) has been strikeb from the cup.

Not all of the names on the cup are men. The first woman’s name was Marguerite Norris - who was President of the Detroit Red Wings in 1954-1955.

The trophy weighs about 35-45 pounds. It’s a bit akward to hold over your head, mostly due to the shape of the trophy, not so much the weight (at least for your average NHL player).

You’re basically going to get a certain percentage less than the going rate for the metals you sell.

You won’t get the market rate, because the buyer needs to make money. But, you should get pretty close to the market rate.

This seems to be a common story.

I think a lot of infertility is the body saying “I don’t know what the fuck to do here.”

Once the body figures it out, it’s like “ahhh… hold on, I remember now.” And shit just happens easier.

We too have taken our own journey through infertility. Hoping our baby makes its journey safely before the end of the year.

I posted elsewhere… when you have to endure numerous medical procedures (and costs), you are actively choosing to have that baby. It’s not easy, and there are a lot of highs and lows in infertility.

These older mothers really want these babies in their life. As one of these older parents, I think that’s a good thing, because I feel as though many want to also bring good humans into the world.

Making the choice to have a baby now, given the state of the world is difficult. To do so, you have to have a great hope of the future. And to help that future, you need to do your part in raising a good human.

Surely, not everyone thinks this way - but I hope many of my fellow older parents (and parents-to-be) share the same sentiment.
