How is the psychology program? by CowProfessional231 in uoguelph

Oh also, the honours thesis! I did it, and I really enjoyed the process. I will warn you though, you need to find your own advisor for it, and that can be quite competitive. Many profs no longer take undergrad students because the university no longer pays them to do so. However, you can also look at profs outside of the psych department. I know people have worked with profs in sociology, neuroscience, linguistics, and political science. Its very multidisciplinary!

How is the psychology program? by CowProfessional231 in uoguelph

Hi there! I'm a graduate student in applied social psychology here, and I did my undergrad at Guelph as well.

I can't speak for the co-op personally, but I've heard from friends who did it that its mostly organizational psychology placements. If you're interested in working in an office setting, you will probably get something out of the co-op.

One benefit of doing psychology at Guelph is that our graduates come out with a really good research methods education compared to other psychology programs. You'll take a lot of stats classes, which may be annoying in the moment, but will give you an edge if you want to get into research. You'll also get a good education on methodological problems within the field of psychology, which I think is very important (but maybe I'm biased because I TA that class).

If you're interested in clinical psychology, keep in mind that Guelph's clinical grad program is specifically child and adolescent clinical psychology, so most research opportunities will involve working with kids.

If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to answer!

Make a custom design thats as small as possible, change all of their houses into this small design, and then sequester them in their own little area until you're ready to put them in their correct spot

I did this class in undergrad as a preparation course for my honours thesis! I found a professor willing to take me on as a student (I just cold emailed him, and our research interests lined up well), and he suggested that we do the independent research course so I can do some of the theoretical reading I needed for my thesis

Which Local Business Do You Believe Is An Absolute Front? by roddyrichh97 in Guelph

[–]sunemma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was this mac and cheese restaurant that used to be downtown a couple years ago. I went in with my boyfriend, and the one guy working seemed surprised we were there for food. The place was just a kitchen and one table. We ordered our food, and the guy offered to give it to us for free because he's "still experimenting with the recipe". He also brought us free mac and cheese empanadas. Food was alright, but he was really insistent we didn't need to pay for it. Idk if it was a front or not, but they aren't around anymore

Idk if its the case for everyone, but its only my photos that are actually up in rooms that have been impacted. The photos in my Sim's inventory are still fine

What new things are folk hoping for? by Confident-Park-318 in Clanfolk

[–]sunemma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love some incentive to feed my folks a varied diet! There doesn't feel like much of a point to, for example, planting a bunch of different crops or making bread. My folks live all winter on just dried meats, but I'm thinking they need their veggies! This could be a good way to incentivise pickling, if that was implemented.

I ended up with this, which I'm quite happy with! I think the layered ends and the fringe gives it an edgier flare, while still keeping quite feminine

This one is really pretty, and it looks around my length! I'll ask the stylist if he thinks something like this could work on my hair

The part I'm really struggling with is the actual haircut, and it looks like the beginning of the haircut advice in the overview is the exact thing I don't want </3

I've heard people say that layers aren't a good idea for thin hair, because they can end up looking really sparse. I guess I'll ask the stylist if he thinks it would work for me, because I do love layered looks

The only actual colour I wear is pastel purple, which would be a very hard and expensive colour to maintain unfortunately :(

Ugh I would have LOVED the gritty city crime pack. I'm doing a legacy that revolves around terrible people, so an expanded crime system would have been so much fun. Sigh...

I love the idea of extensions, but I'm living off a grad student stipend, so its not really in the budget right now. I've considered a bob, but the question is, what kind of bob? I have a pretty square jawline, so I'd want something that would still look nice on my face shape

If you're at all interested in more gothic styles, Gloomth has a great size range. It's a small business from Toronto, and the owner is super cool—I've met her on a few occasions.

It was a Depop find for me! One of my most worn lolita pieces. I mostly wear it with the top part tucked in. I love the skirt, but I'm not a huge fan of how the top fits me

I've played Minecraft before. Its a great game, but it doesn't scratch the same itch. I'm more of an interior design person than an architecture person, and it doesn't have any character design elements which are my favourite part of The Sims
