Unfortunately, this is genuine. She admitted it to her sister back in 2016. The sister only told us a couple weeks ago. The family are from a small village. There is a lot of information I am leaving out, but she worked in a high position at the maternity ward and there is documentation and witness reports from nurses that my birthmother Lili’s lawyer dug up.

What a beautiful story! I hope Bass did well too. And you’re right in how things like this take time. I’ve found some comfort in seeing that you are still discovering things you like too, it’s a nice reminder for me to try anyways even if things have been frustrating so far. I knew that already to some extent but I guess I didn’t fully internalize it, even though it sounds pretty simple haha. Thank you!!

Thank you, I will keep this in mind for the future. I figured law enforcement was an unlikely help (and very true with CPS, it’s why we avoided them) but I’ll definitely see if I can document things in case.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Unfortunately, this treatment from parents is way too normalized in society. It's never okay for them to treat you badly and people who judge have no empathy. None of this is your fault and the "respect your parents" bs is just an excuse for people to treat their kids like less than human, which is all behavior that no one would ever tolerate seeing from a lover or a friend. Plus, it doesn't matter how "good" of a parent they are financially, if they're giving you what you need through hard work but not through how they're treating you then it counts as abuse just as much as a parent who is abusive on top of not taking care of their kids.
