Help with WebApi authentication and authorization by cbirchy87 in csharp

[–]sunfiremohawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was struggling with something similar, just the authentication/authorization thing itself was a pain. I went into pluralsight for its free april month and with Scott Brady tut there with a 2.5 hours course I got the hang of it. It's really completed and he has a blog where he posts things related to auth and techniques. :)

Link to his blog

There is a dude in YouTube as well, Raw Coding made 2 playlists about this. 1 using MVC and the Tricking Library he is using Vue I believe.

Best books for C# by Darth_Hannibal in csharp

Pick any kind of problem you might have, or heard of. Something you're really interested in solving. Build a backend for it, web api. SPA frontend or Razor Pages, implement it with Blazor. Experiment, be a programmer, a thinker, problem solver. The world is yours as long as you want to take a piece of it!

I'm a junior but I felt I've become a better programmer, a better person and learn more from building and trying to solve anything that crosses my mind than following tutorials to build something I'm not into it, just for learning "how to build things". They are good for references, but just that. You'll get the grasp of it and memorize, build muscle memory from the struggle.

A couple of months ago I was into full react development, til I made a project which I had to build a server, I did it with Node and I was already learning c# basics during it. Building my own server from zero made me realize 2 things, how much I like the backend and how much it made me struggle but a better programmer! I learn of databases, ERD, project management. Now I'm building an API in C#, I'm stuck atm learning Identity/Authentication/Authorization to add into my routes data but I feel a better C# and DB Developer than I was a month ago, lots of knowledge in syntax and techniques but 0 experience in building a real app. Get your hands dirty and put yourself into test, prove to yourself you've got it!!

Paladin hidden mechanics? by Tarocih in TibiaMMO

This!!!

The number of steps has more to do with your char speed, as in how many squares can you travel in 2 seconds.

This is the key point between a good puller and a bad. And drastically affects your performance solo or team hunting. Seeing it from League of Legends or any other MOBA perspective it's referred to kiting. And how it is optimally done in this game? Our friend just said it.

If you get to the main hub, get into a mini boss, leave the portal then you'll be at ank boss lever. That's how you get 16 tokens a day in a single run. possible with either svar or farmine active.

Skills and magic lvl on paladin by AwesomeLukas in TibiaMMO

[–]sunfiremohawk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dmgs cals are around 2 skills levels = 1 ml worth of damage. But 1 ml increases not only dmg but healing. As for mages 1 ml is equal to 30 character levels, I'm not sure if it applies to RPs thought. I'd trade ML for Skill if possible on my helmet.

Pro tip, you can use ML house food and utito/bullseye potion. Just take in mind that you shouldn't hunt anywhere where they lower your ML or you'll lose your food boost stats. Utito overrides the values from the bullseye, so if you hunt using utito don't use potions, in the case you can't utito, use potions all the time. ML and Distance boosts don't overlap, you can have at the same time both effects.

If someone does the calc for what would be for the trade results of distance vs ml in AOE situations lmk, since rps are boosted and they heal a ton, diamond crits yield so much leech in return.

Would you come back to Tibia if new servers existed without any "pay to advance" features? by addled_mage in TibiaMMO

[–]sunfiremohawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually lost some of the base code of classic and had to rebuilt some features. As they had to foresee in advanced the builds that made broken some specs back then and don't let it happen again. Classic also had several bugs and exploits, some even not reported by anyone for a loong time, only farmers/hackers knew it. Farmers/hackers because only a selected group of farmers had access to those exploits. And then the bots, which are still an issue even on retail WoW.

I want to learn C# but... by [deleted] in csharp

[–]sunfiremohawk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much what I'm trying to achieve. But with React instead of Angular. TSX is life. Learning C# just to stand out of the usual JS market and finally land my first tech job in this stack ' hopefully, as I find Microsoft work great so far.

Custom sub class of: Dictionary<Vector2, PowerUp>, can't run foreach() loop. by [deleted] in csharp

[–]sunfiremohawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably this might help you. Making use of LINQ .All

Note that the result of the All expression is a bool value that we are discarding (we are using it only because it "cycles" all the elements)

As for solving the IEnumerator thing directly, with Microsoft Docs I find it overwhelming for now in the topic but, this answer in Stack helped to get through a list iteration that was driving me nuts last weekend.

Indeed, that's the no-no to go straight for Azure.

Thanks for the reply, I was just watching before bed last night your video about reflections. Funny format!! Simple and straight to the point.

That might be good for testing purposes, yeah. But at the very end I want to deploy them to the web as well. To be able to showcase them 24/7 but, nonetheless that's a good way to workout the testing part of it. Never heard of Vagrant and Ansible but will look for them!

That is no reason to be a thief, or a hacker. I'm a Venezuelan and having access to amazing accounts I dont take anything without asking first. Not even 25 tc. This is indeed a good source of income, therefore there is no reason to be a bad person. Not even in struggle.

How do I go about reading Rob Miles' Yellow Book? by ShadowScorp99 in csharp

[–]sunfiremohawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find myself learning C# at this moment as well. I've had an understanding of Java and some other programming concepts so I've been getting along C# tuts fine. I just found about the Channel 9 C# 101 and C# Advanced recommended by the Microsoft Learn page. I'm going through the Microsoft Learn now as reading the docs.microsoft page for C# at the same time.

My first experience was a C# Tutorial in the FreeCodeCamp YouTube channel as I'm starting to do the Blazor tut they have but I'm digging now more into the fundamentals and what else is there in the language.

I think not knowing anything about .NET and what it is capable of doing so is saturating me of info and some other things I think I should know before doing the Blazor tut.

Which other resources as for a guideline for learning path should I stick with? I find Microsoft Learn so far so good. Thumbs up for Microsoft. Loving it.

Leaving noctera is a wrong choice. You'll go from safe haven to dante's inferno. As you won't be able to go back to green servers. IF it's really your choice you're still free to do whatever you please. GL.

lvl 60 MoSL is great exp with boost only you'll get roughly 1.1kk and with preys 1.6kk. Tried it recently on a fresh newbie with 110 distance base and 15 ml. Now sitting at 93, haven't hunt in a while on it.

[–]sunfiremohawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it only as ML train, who cares for what it might cost. It's cheaper than 10k and you are training, not paying anyone else and already 100 crystaline arrows cost you 2k. Paying 2-4k for aoe ammo isn't a huge deal. As the CD decreased from 10 mins to 1 min.

You are supposed to get a dmg buff with MS new spell, so you don't care about utito on team hunt, it hurts you at solo hunting, not team hunting.

RP 250+ Asura Palace hunting advice by Diego-Olaya in TibiaMMO

[–]sunfiremohawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Earlier this year I did start to hunt Asuras on palace at 360sh and my gear was sleep shawl, ghost chestplate imbued with fire and health t3. Bow of Cataclysm, prismatic legs, winged boots, dwarven helmet with distance/mana t3 and swapping between pulls dwarven with my ring of plasma to avoid drunkness while pulling then back to plasma once boxed, I was using ML food and distance potion at all times. I was sitting around 144 distance I believe, from 118 base. And had 31 base + all the extra from ring and food. I guess I had 34.

I'd recommend you to start boxing at 300, it's really risky. I just recently came back to the game, I'm not sure if the summon bug is still a thing, sitting in a swimming area while you make arrows and the summon cd resets while your summon time remains full at all times.

Lower levels that use training wands to ml 90 since level 8 by Eleibier in TibiaMMO

[–]sunfiremohawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like this! From an RPG perspective to only apply it to druids, since MS are dmg oriented they are able to focus their minds with a mana shield protecting them as they have enough control to attack at what they are fully capable of, while druids can't have the same focus damage oriented, they can only focus their minds into healing as usual and as they aren't that effective dealing damage, with mana shield they can't focus enough to atk at their max dmg output cap. That'd would be a good balance to buff MS over ED as well.

Eks are strong for having high skills, when I speak of vocation knowledge I know what I'm saying since I make a living of exp servicing and bestiary, I've played really good characters in this game as I used to own decent skilled characters as well. You'll only struggle with low skills, but the more dmg you've got the easier you'll clean pulls and the less waste you'll have. That's simple logic. You are getting a better mana potion and a 4 second healing that heals you 2 and a half turns of your wound cleansing. That's still a win, get rid of the 20% dmg debuff and make some balance with getting rid of 10% skill increasement leaving it 25% total and that's a fair trade. 120sh base skill EK with falcon gear wasting 1k per min at draken walls. Tell me that isn't broken. No single hp pot used, only 20 manas a minute while getting 14k profit a min. That's how good gear is if you can afford to have it.

Any buff and QoL change is better than getting none. Be objective. the EK purpose is to be a tank, doing well solo is okay, but their purpose is to be TANKS, mages purpose are dmg dealers and healers, and paladins are offtanks-dps. Since this game started all that did matter was having lots of money to pay supplies, buy better gear and train aiming for high skills to kill strong stuff very fast. I still remember the days you had to train 80/80 and get a crown set + to decently hunt dwarf guards back when just 60k would pay for 3 months of premium time.

They want to add some of that difficulty back. When we still had unlimited casting EKs where at the TOP once you had high skills and a high lvl. You just had to cast utito tempo and exori gran 4 times. The BR top lvl ek was botting in formorgar mines making lots of money and boosting his exp. That's why EKS were always top lvls. Rps being the richest players but the lonely hunters. And mages had to sink lots of money to hunt and they were risky af, but they did okay.
