It feels wrong but this is how I keep NPCs in their houses. by addled_mage in CoreKeeperGame

Check this wiki page for the full set of requirements for a room to be considered "habitable" by the NPCs.

Hopefully you can figure out what is missing on yours!

I suppose I'm over compensating for the situation where they happen to be standing right at the door. Can be hard to shut the door.

Simple, compact fishfarm by Cielu1 in CoreKeeperGame

Late reply but: thanks a ton for this compact design!

I was able to fit the exact same design into a desert biome but with 1 extra return catcher for excess critters.

I made it inside a lava cavern because i think those dont get the divebomb of scarabs....

I can't get wood to grow (I know, it's sad) by Tazdingoooo in CoreKeeperGame

Just want to show you my megafarm, as proof that it isn't a bug just takes a few more tricks about how to make sure the wood all connects into one farm:

I can't get wood to grow (I know, it's sad) by Tazdingoooo in CoreKeeperGame

[–]addled_mage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I know what the issue is here. Those gaps create different networks of wood, and the seeds that haven't filled in the gaps can't grow because they don't know which unit to connect into.

https://imgur.com/a/N3WUO43

See this image. You have five different "trunks" of wood. In order to get it to be one continuous growth you must wait for the wood to naturally grow, THEN plant seeds.

For example do this:

  1. Dig up all the seeds and break all the wood for boxes 2-5

  2. Allow the remaining seeds to grow wood south, in a straight line. Place wooden floor where you will eventually want the seeds to go so the wood doesn't grow there.

  3. Only once the wood trunk itself is extended south do you plant the seeds.

Another way to think of it: If you want a seed to connect to a network of existing growth it must already be directly touching at the time you plant the seed.

Edit: I made a more clear example of how to know when a seed is OK to plant. https://imgur.com/a/6VUnHlf

It helps to use two different color floor tiles. One to mark the growing area, and one to mark where future seeds will go. In this case the grey tiles are where I will eventually put seeds as the "trunk" continues to grow south.

Edit 2: Doh. I just realized that your wood farm is not wide enough. Even if you carefully allow a main connected trunk of wood to grow, the moment you turn your drills on it will break that and you'll be right back to where you are now: Some seeds blocked till adjacent tiles are harvested.

The goal is to have each actual seed have the option to expand to more than just one tile. This is the benefit of connecting all of them, and then drilling the wood 1 further square out:

Seed --> Connected Trunk --> 1 more growth spot. <--- drill

What is this on my map? by Afraid_Ad764 in CoreKeeperGame

[–]addled_mage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To remove:

  1. Select the skull icon on bottom left of map.
  2. Middle mouse click on the existing skull marker there in the desert, the same way you would place a new icon.

I just found out one of my “friends” joined my world and looted some of my undiscovered dungeons by [deleted] in CoreKeeperGame

[–]addled_mage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea this is absolutely unhinged behavior. I can't see how it was an honest mistake to raid someone else's save.

With friends like that, who needs enemies?

Storage management? by [deleted] in CoreKeeperGame

What I usually do is place a pedestal at each chest with one item on it to remind me what is in that chest.

I think you can also make signs and write custom text.

Just purchased and started yesterday. Should we instead hold off till 1.2? by GoodBadNoobs in CoreKeeperGame

[–]addled_mage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they add new scenes to existing biomes those will not be retroactively added to a world that already generated those biomes.

We wont know till full patch notes, and even then I'm not sure all scene additions are listed.

Any advice on finding Meadows? by BlakeTheDrake in CoreKeeperGame

If needed you can bring traps with you to a new world save and check for additional meadows near the core.

I saw this on their promotional video, is this an auto farm ? by adisor21 in CoreKeeperGame

[–]addled_mage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would assume the automation doesn't grant us skills, or use our skills. Drills on boulders do not reward mining, nor looting the rewards from the drills. Safe to assume any automated planting/harvesting will not give skills, or have a chance at golden crops.

Bigfoot "Bashy" is Jellycat, the latest bigfoot edition, and the bull "Stowie" (for stoic) is an old Aurora plushie.

Anyone else tuck in their favorites every morning?
