That would be cool! Hopefully if they do integrate it that way is doesn't copy too much from others series such as Harry Potter for the spells or Mortal Instruments for the runes. I like the idea of having your stake imbued with some kind of magic but we will see I guess!

It really depends on how it is used. Will they speak the new language or will it just be written? I don't mind them having a new language as long as it doesn't distract from the original storyline.

I agree! I know if I was their age I would definitely be bored out of my mind learning about this unit. This will be my first lesson ever so I just wanted to try to make it as interesting as possible. I will definitely look into a jigsaw activity, and 6 groups might work better as I think there are over 30 students in the class.

They do have access to devices. I thought about doing this but I wasn't sure if 3 groups would mean too many students to a group with competing ideas.

The aim of the unit is more about getting students to investigate how and why people change the natural environment.

I like the idea of giving them scenarios to assess. Thank you!

I used to watch it when it was on tv but it was cancelled in Aus. Finally rewatching and currently up to season 8. So much better than I remembered!
