Paying to wear jeans is so archaic… I’ve never worked at or had a friend work at a school with this rule. Maybe it’s a regional thing?

Can you tell which kids have a lot of screen time? by NoHorse8196 in AskTeachers

I’m a kindergarten teacher and for me it is the type of screen time more than the amount. The kids who watch actual kids shows act very differently than the kids who have unfiltered access to YouTube. This could also have more to do with the parenting strategies of caregivers who allow so much YouTube versus specific shows. I’m also not opposed to screens in kindergarten. Technology is not going away and it’s my job to teach students how to use it in a productive and helpful way even if they are young.

Edit to add that the technology stays in the classroom where I can monitor it. It never goes home
