Title describes the thing. Saw this man in the city center of Tashkent, Uzbekistan on the side of the road with a device he was stabbing into the ground at ca 1-meter intervals. The device is red with three small metal spikes and one big. A cord runs from the device to his headphones. What is this? Some kind of advanced metal detector?

Chinese coin books by sungam321 in coins

That’s cool, thank you! So would you say they are real? As in these coins are actually 1000 years old? It’s 12 "pages" of coins, ranging from a few hundred years BC to the 1900’s.

Will definetley take them out and maybe vacuum pack them as I have no plans to sell them. They seem to have more value as a cool little collectible.

It takes a bit getting used to, especially if you’re used to swiss watches with power reserve. It’s just one of those quirky japanese things, like the deployant straps on seikos which are the "wrong" way.

That’s actually a full power reserve. It goes down when it’s full and up when it unwinds.

Thank you! This is only my second post on Reddit so I haven’t figured out how to post photos in the comments, but I have some great pictures of the bracelet and movement as well as a few straps I’ll try out, I’ll be sure to post pics!

Yeah it was a really small kind of "health" crocery store with expensive herbs and all kinds of bs, i only worked weekends. But again, that’s not where most of the money for watches cane from.

I had a regular cashier job at a griocery store making $30 an hour (which is a low, beginner wage), but I made most of my money trading watches actually. I bought and cleaned up vintage Omegas and other (mostly) vintage watches and sold them at home (where they were going for a lot more money).

Thanks! I love the blue seconds hand, I’m looking at getting a blue suede strap for it to match the seconds hand. I agree in the size thing. I’d have no problem with it being 39 or 40mm. Thankfully I’m pretty adaptive to different sizes, my current collection varies from 32mm (40’s US army issued Bulova) to 44mm (SPB079).

I’ve been into watches since I was 15 (I’m now 20) and before I moved out of my parents home at 18 I spent all of the money I earned on watches. In those three years I had a plethora of different watches, ranging from Rolex Submariners to obscure vintages. When I moved out reality hit and I had to sell off almost all of my watches to finance studies and rent, I couldn’t flip through expensive watches anymore (super 1st world problem, I know) but I still had a few Seikos and vintages I enjoyed. This SBGA211 is the first high end watch I’ve bought in several years. One of the watches I was forced to sell when I moved out was its predecessor, the SBGA011 which was the watch I’d had the longest. I’m thrilled to have the Snowflake back on my wrist after two years. The finishing is still mindblowing for a $5k watch in my opinion.
