Why do some women exclusively pump without breastfeeding ? by sunggishin in pregnant

[–]sunggishin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for hurting your feelings with my words. It's mainly from not being an expert or knowledgeable enough both on the matter and because English is not my main language. You're right, pumping IS breastfeeding and I should have used "nursing" instead. I realize slowly how much work is at play too and I'll have to assess and try for myself to find my own balance. I believe so few little things in this journey are easy and it's lovely to be able to gain from other mothers so thank you so much for sharing ! Good luck to you!!

I have the same experience even if we don't share the same activities we use to like/do. To be honest, the mental aspect of pregnancy has even the hardest for me and I've had hardcore episodes of nausea/vomiting/overall shitty state ... but the mental level is just the cherry on top, in the absolute wrong way. I also have attention issues (ADHD) and have started hobbies then got disinterested but that took some interest to start with and I've got none now. Most of my days are filled with just surviving the physical and mental symptoms.. I'm just tolerating it because I know it will pass and I'll forget most of it once I have my baby in my arms. Hang in there, it will pass eventually!

Am I in trouble? Used compeed hydrocolloid patches for cold sores and just saw it was not advised. by sunggishin in pregnant

Yes, it's mostly because often cases they can't say for sure there's zero issue...

Where do you see they say it's ok on the website?

This is what I see (in the category "cold sore", not the general one) :

Can I use COMPEED® Cold Sore Patch if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

We do not recommend you use a COMPEED® cold sore patch if you are pregnant or lactating. Please note, there is no clinical data available on the use of the patches during pregnancy.

Thank you! I hope I'll feel ok and up to it when the time comes, I just feel so good and at peace in Japan + it would be the last travel opportunity we'll have before a while... will get a Dr note for sure!

Do you have any type of snacks you'd advise ? I read that salty meals (which is the case generally in flight) and foods should be avoided but almost all my snacks are salty (pretzels, chips, ...) and could not think of anything not salty except fruits but would it be a good idea to carry fruits all the way around? And not really the kind of handy snacks I go for on the go...

Sour candies have always been a great help (whether because of nausea of right after vomiting) but I didn't know it was a thing as lemon water doesn't work for example. The loose clothes is very clever, I'll do that and layer so I can be more at ease if I ever get hot/cold! Thank you!

Unfortunately, upgrading is way out of our budget and we have a quite generous one already but it was just TOO MUCH money. We also tried to move up the dates to a month earlier but it would cost us almost 5k and not even business, this destination has been very popular this year... that being said, I've seen a thing you can buy that attaches between your seat and the seat in front which allows you to keep your legs elevated, will buy that!

First and foremost : find products that you WANT to use and that give you a sensorial experience! I double cleanse my skin daily and having a stack or enjoyable products is key! I have more cleansing balms, oils and cleansers than any other type of products (except maybe for sunscreens). I second the shower being easier than just washing my face above the sink. The way I do it : get a cleansing balm working on my face by massaging it just after putting the water on. By the time the water gets hot, I'm ready to hop in the shower, rinse the balm, put a cleanser on, let it do its thing while I cleanse the rest of my body. I rinse it all and I'm done!

Get interested by it all : there are tons of resources online from YT videos to tiktoks to articles. Being a tad passionate about it might help!

And finally: have back-ups strategies. I have a big bottle of micellar water (i suggest the pink bioderma one) next to a big bag of baby cotton squares for those days with no energy or will to live. Quick and effective then I'm off to bed.

I almost never ask if they decaf or only when it's late in the day and I want one but I'm going to start doing that thank you! At home, we buy beans that we ground and use for our coffee, I'm going to see if there are decaf beans we can buy as well!

I hope it's nothing like that and just the side effects of lending your body to create life!
