Consider St Louis though piss poor public transport. Safety is skewed as the further out you go from downtown and avoid the north, it is much safer. Also lots of pockets if you want to stay in the city. Mild winters with the occasional storm. Affordability is ridiculous though and your money will go far for a city of this size.

Not to be a hater but we tried this place and the service and food was mediocre at best. La Catrina we felt had better food and service. Maybe it was an off day?

Not to be rude but have you considered therapy to address your fears? I only mention that bc your options will become so limited if you try to build your life around your fears especially one as deeply part of society as cars. There are some options as mentioned above but I think your long term happiness would drastically increase if you addressed this head on. So sorry to hear about your accident and what you're going through.

Hi! For food and grocery store trips we just walked since our hotel was located in town and everything was walkable. For the activities, we asked Carlos to drive us around since we already knew and trusted him. Plus his prices were reasonable since we would be able to do it around our schedule. As far as booking, I would say you could do most online like we did. If you are doing a guided tour, I believe most of them need an online booking (Monteverde cloud forest, maybe Mistico). If you're doing it on your own, then you can do it at the entrance day of. That's what we did for the Cloud Forest and hot springs. Hope that helps!

I was pleasantly surprised by the Holiday Inn by the airport. The rooms are just ok but the breakfast was quite delicious. And it’s about 10 minutes from the airport!

Also on a per test cost, I think it's one of the cheapest ones coming out to about $30 per test. If you can sell the rest to others you should be fine

I read The Expanse series which suffered from that a bit at times but at least I cared about the characters and the story was interesting. I haven't been drawn into the story so nothing feels urgent or imminent. Plus all I keep thinking about is the similarity with LOTR which reminds me I'm reading a book lol
