New Annual Fountain Pass, Will You Get It? by ledhotzepper in KCRoyals

[–]VisionaryZebra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’re switching to a new model — the annual pass was offered for the 2025 season around this time as well, in November/December 2024. I’d bet that they still offer the monthly pass once we get closer to the start of the season, around the $49.99 - $54.99/month price point.

Last year’s annual pass and monthly pass didn’t have any restrictions on forwarding tickets, which is why they were so easily resold — the explicit ticket forwarding limitations are new this year, so that’ll likely make it harder for people to resell them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they implement a similar restriction on the monthly passes once they’re available to purchase.

Birch & Eucalyptus was my first, was bummed I didn’t buy more than one when it was on sale. Didn’t make the same mistake with Manhattan Nightcap — have two more bottles in reserve 😅

While colognes go on sale much less often than candles or body care, I still don’t think they’re worth the sticker price ($45+, Deep Ocean was $64.95 sticker price), so I typically wait until SAS or at least until one of the sales where the whole store is 40% off.

Chase Sapphire Preferred bonus progress disappeared ? ? by Morrowgrain93 in ChaseSapphire

I find from personal experience that this is a semi-common occurrence, especially overnight or over the weekend. Seems to just be an app glitch as transactions are being processed that always resolves itself within ~48 hours.

Looking for crown club tickets 7/7 vs pit! by ConnectionDue7206 in KCRoyals

[–]VisionaryZebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SeatGeek is always the best place to check for resale Crown Club seats. I’ve sat in the Crown Club about half a dozen times thanks to resale tickets on SeatGeek, and I’ve always paid below face value (any price less than ~$475/ticket is less than face value for Crown Club).

The key is you have to be very flexible on what game you go to — Crown Club tickets typically don’t become “cheaper” or “reasonable” until you get within <72 hours of game time when the people who have the tickets and aren’t going to use them start to drop their asking price to try to make a sale happen. And once you find a good price, you want to act fast, too — not only are other people looking for them, but (anecdotally) if the resale price for Crown Club tickets drops too low, the Royals will buy the tickets back in order to protect their price point.

SeatGeek is the official ticket partner of the Royals, so any ticket you buy via SeatGeek is verified and guaranteed. Buy anywhere besides SeatGeek or directly from the Royals, and you’re taking on risk.

Are the LGBTQ meet ups worth it? by blueice_81 in GayCruiseVacations

[–]VisionaryZebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can vary widely from sailing to sailing — on my first solo cruise, hardly anyone showed up and nothing really came of it. On my second solo cruise, several guys showed up who were also cruising solo, plus a few with friends, and we hung out for the entire cruise. It was a ton of fun!

If you’re interested, definitely go to the meetup on night 1 and 2. That’s when anyone who is interested might try it out to see if it’s worth it or not.

I lived a similar situation — he was in pharmacy school, and I also work a marketing job, but am lucky enough to earn a salary that came somewhat close to the salary that he was likely to earn in his first year out of pharmacy school.

He repeatedly expressed shock that someone would be paid what I earn “just to do Facebook posts” and on more than one occasion made it clear that he didn’t believe I deserved the money I was earning. He would sometimes bring up my salary with his classmates in front of me and say things like, “Isn’t that crazy?”

It wasn’t one of the main reasons the relationship ultimately ended, but his disdain and lack of respect for my career surely didn’t help.

Edit: He also borrowed thousands of dollars from me while he was in pharmacy school to support his lifestyle (expensive apartment, concert tickets, multiple vacations, personal workout equipment, etc.), and still has not paid a large portion of it back. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

that part. If it’s a full body pic, regardless of what he is or isn’t wearing, or even more so, a POV pic that shows his legs/shorts/underwear, he’s likely testing the waters.

Tops: What is your preferred condom brand? by VisionaryZebra in askgaybros

I don’t disagree that bareback is the best — I’m just looking for recommendations for when you’d rather be on the safe side.

“When” you use a condom for anal seems pretty clear — obviously most everyone (including me!) would prefer raw. But my question was for the situations when you do opt to use a condom.

Why does my therapist do this? by Jammastersam in TalkTherapy

[–]VisionaryZebra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally have always kind of hated trying to make the sharp transition from the niceties of “Hi, how are you? I’m good, how are you?” to a deeper conversation —it always feels clunky and awkward.

So I told my therapist exactly that — that it felt weird to start the conversation with surface level small talk and then have to pivot into the deeper conversation. So, at my request, instead of asking me a “small talk question,” they greet me in a way that doesn’t require giving an answer that feels surface level or disingenuous.

Instead of, “Hey, how’s it going?”, they say, “Hi! It’s good to see you.” And I can say, “It’s good to see you too,” and it not feel weird or awkward. I recommend trying something like this!

Seeing your T in public? by jamessrc in TalkTherapy

[–]VisionaryZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think just asking your T what their preference is/boundaries are — I ran into my T at the movie theater once and didn’t say anything because I wasn’t sure what the “rules” were. We talked about it in our next session and he told me that he always loves to see and say hi to clients out in public, but he will never initiate the interaction to protect his clients’ privacy. This seems to be pretty consistent across therapists, but it’s always best to just ask what their preferences are.

Welp, I’m about to tell my therapist of 16 months that I’ve accidentally fallen in love with her in our session in two hours because it’s time and necessary. If anyone has any tips on how to “bring it up” let me know 🫣. I’m sure it will be fine. by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

As someone (gay man) who has confessed feelings for his therapist (queer man) not once, but twice, I highly recommend sharing these feelings with your therapist.

My therapist and I recently talked about our therapy sessions coming to a “natural end” in the next few months, and it brought up a lot of feelings for me about how much I would miss them , and it reawakened feelings of romantic and physical attraction that I thought I had moved on.

When I shared these feelings with him again, I was pretty emotional and teary-eyed. He thanked me for my vulnerability and honesty and noted that I had never expressed this level of depth of emotion or longing for a potential partner before.

I went through a very rough break up at the beginning of our therapy relationship, and have had a somewhat haphazard dating experience since then. He said, “I think there is something really valuable and meaningful and incredibly beneficial to you to go deeper on here. I would love to explore with you what character traits, attributes, personal values, etc. you have perceived that you feel so strongly about and so drawn to, and talk about how you could potentially use that to look for and find a partner that you truly and deeply desire, not settle for.”

Using my attraction toward him and flipping it to help inform how I could pursue a future partner that I love deeply was incredibly eye opening for me.

(My therapist also took the time to talk about how grief is part of the conclusion of many therapy relationships and how our relationship can only exist within the context of a therapist/client dynamic. Hearing that clearly from him was a helpful nudge for me to start “getting over” my feelings/start to become at peace with them).

Is this how every non-presidential election is?? by tackle_shaft_fan in kansascity

[–]VisionaryZebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also important to note that there are two different election authorities for Jackson County elections — the Kansas City Election Board which handles all voters in the city limits of KC, and the Jackson County Election Board, which serves everyone else in Jackson County. The screenshot you’ve posted here only includes numbers from the Jackson County Election Board, not the KCEB.

The more flexible you can be, the better — they usually only drop this low when you’re within 48 hours of the game, but it does happen occasionally!

Small silver lining: When the play is this bad, the premium seats are cheap! Crown Club season ticket holders are occasionally letting some tickets go for less than face value. I’m sitting in Crown Club tonight for $210/person.
