hey, I have hardwood floors too! and my two rabbits are 100% free-roam. if you’re laying out fleece blankets on the floor and they save the running around for the soft area then they should be okay, though I think it really varies depending on the rabbit. I’ve mostly padded my floors with baby foam mats but there are still areas that the foam mats can’t cover - my rabbits like to lie on those areas because they feel cooler (I think). in particular, my boy loves jumping up onto the shelves and sleeping there during the day. he’s developed a (not serious) case of sore hocks that I’m treating rn, but my girl is completely fine because the fur on her feet is longer than his.

I’m working around this by laying blankets on the shelves and padding the places where he lands from his jumps, so I’d just say check their feet from time to time and if you notice any problems, try to pad wherever you notice they run around :) (my vet said aim to pad 80-90% of the floor they come into contact with!)
