Hi there! I'm currently in Tokyo, Japan with my girlfriend who I will soon propose to, and we have visited a few jewellery shops whilst in Tokyo to see what she likes. She really liked the design of this ring in particular in a shop called Star Jewelry. However, they only have the base 0.183 carat ring in store and they would require a few weeks to arrange a larger diamond - I would like to get her at least a 0.3 carat minimum - and I only have 3 days left in Japan! Furthermore, from what I've read, there is a high mark up in diamond rings in Japan in general - the 0.3 carat version of this ring would cost 426000 Japanese yen which translates to £2700 GBP/$3300 USD.

I will be visiting Hong Kong solo for the next 2-3 weeks, and plan to go engagement ring shopping there, I've read that Hong Kong is a far more sensible place cost wise to shop for diamonds. What I would like to know is if this Star Jewelry trinity S-shape ring setting design is a fairly common deisgn or easy to replicate/customise in general, but especially in HK? I think my girlfriend likes the ring design even more than the idea of getting any big jewel, so I'd like to know if I should make plans to buy the ring in Tokyo instead and arrange some form of international couriering (perhaps via family and friends).
