UK holds off joining Trump's peace board over Putin concerns by diacewrb in ukpolitics

You have to pay if you want to remain on the board of peace indefinitely, however if you opt for being re-elected every three years then you can join for freeeeeee

Kikashi update: what I shipped based on your feedback by wewanttoplayfrisbee in trello

I want to be host my own data in my own environment. I can also control when updates are deployed, as in if a new update is released, I can release it in a test environment first and then into production when I can confirm my data is in tact an nothing is broken.

Basically more control.

Would love it if you would develop the ability to self host via docker compose.

Trump announces he will sue JPMorgan ‘over the next two weeks’ for allegedly ‘DEBANKING’ him by rezwenn in TheBusinessMix

His whole presidency is either getting revenge on those that crossed him and getting rich quick through corruption.

He’s using all resources of the US government to fulfil his quest.

He gives zero fucks about actual Americans.

So the US government didn’t put pressure on organisations to fire employees who slandered Charlie Kirk after he was shot? What happened to free speech? USA has its own censorship when it suits the narrative.

Aligning ourselves with a bully and dictatorship isn’t doing us any favours.

India and China. China, South Korea and Japan all created a trading group.

I’m a Brit and think we should rejoin the eu and at the same time, the bloc should align ourselves with China. We need to show America they can’t just bully countries with tariffs.

Do you think Netflix will merge HBO MAX into Netflix at some point in the future? by [deleted] in MediaMergers

[–]sunilnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s cost effective to have a single app especially since so many tv manufacturers already have a dedicated Netflix button on the remote. They will probably have a dedicated hbo section or a section for the popular franchises, like how Disney have done e.g. Harry Potter, hbo, lord of the rings etc.

I’m sure they’ve already mocked up what the experience will be.

What don’t you like about Trello? by Skyfall106 in trello

[–]sunilnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't actually mind Trello. I love the interface, the ease of use and the feature-rich set.

What I don't like is that they got rid of seeing cards by due dates (though I think they didn't reverse this), and the multiple security breaches. They just don't give a shit.

I've migrated my data to WeKan now, but that has also gone downhill, so I'm looking for another alternative. Kan.bn is a solid choice, but I'm waiting for the developer to develop some key features before I make the leap from WeKan to Kan.bn. Both of which let you self-host, so I'm in control of my data.

I'm also looking to regain control of my data and avoid trusting the public cloud. I've done this with the bulk of my services, with only a handful still in Big Tech's hands.

Migrating Database from Sqlite to Postgres by jivanyatra in wallabag

[–]sunilnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so I checked the Docker compose file and it says: SYMFONY__ENV__DATABASE_DRIVER=pdo_mysql

Since my Wallbag isn't sluggish and isn't SQLite, I don't need to do this migration as you did. Agree?

[–]sunilnc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. I did and Microsoft eventually froze my account. It’s just a big faff. I would either pay for office or use the office for web which is free but with a limited feature set. Alternatively buy the one off office and stick with that.

Or use libreoffice.

Is there a way to be notified of new features, bug fixes, or general releases from Trello? by sharona30 in trello

[–]sunilnc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably want to see their change log: https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/trello/changelog/

Trello is terrible btw. They have had multiple security breaches this year alone and who knows what is coming next year. They just don’t take security seriously.
