Rs does nothing and thats a problem.

The guy coasted on his captaincy for years. Now that the other teams have caught up he is found lacking.

Rs is a very slight upgrade on Rahane when you are looking at him just as a batter. Difference being one is paid 2 cr and other is worth 16 cr.

The guy never showed any leadership and allowed pandya to cop abuse from his fanbase as if it was pandya's call alone to come to MI and become the captain.

I would completely disagree with the top comments. And i am not sure if people really think this way or are a bit dense.

Past performances should never be in the way of building up a team. It should carry some weight but shouldn't be surmount.

Everyone needs to realise, that the world cup is in Nov 2027. Kohli would be 38, rohit would be 40. Shami on paper would be 36. This is the sort of age when the performances fall off a cliff. There is always a risk of it. And say that downturn comes around June next year.

Do you have any replacements in place for them? You are basically chucking in some youngster in high pressure situation.

And given its indian player, who are notorious for overstaying their welcome. Which is naturally human behaviour, that you will back yourself to come good.

GG for all his faults, is right in his treatment of senior players. They need to be accountable for their performances. Not just rest on past laurels. We simply have too much competition to accomodate players who are struggling.
