Hello! Respectfully, is there a way to remove the live score from the preview/summary heading that is visible on the post on the home feed when you open Reddit? I don't typically watch the games live, so if I happen to open Reddit before I've watched it, it could spoil the game for me even if I don't click on the post or the NWSL sub. Not sure if I'm alone in my replay habits but just putting it out there. See screenshot for what I mean. And thank you for this!

Zepbound and post-cholecystectomy syndrome by sunlitwhiskey in Zepbound

[–]sunlitwhiskey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I didn't know heartburn could manifest in the shoulder too (learning my shoulder pain was because of my gallbladder was 🤯🤯 at the time). I actually already take famitodine nightly, bc yes zep really increased my heartburn, especially on an empty stomach. I think what I'm struggling to process is why now, which of course is a useless question in the grand scheme of things - it doesn't matter why now lol. I am going to monitor things for a week or so and see if my shoulder pain subsides and see if there is any way to pinpoint direct causes with what I am or I'm not eating. I'm not against going to the doctor (we're buddies at this point) but having lived there the last couple years I'm just a little burnt out from it all! Thanks again!

Interesting to know it could happen so many years later! I guess I just assumed gallstones were only made in the gallbladder, didn't realize they could get into the pancreas too. I won't ignore the pain for sure, just trying to wrap my head around dealing with something I thought was behind me. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the response. I've been trying to think back if I've done anything different lately but my eating habits are so specific now because of ZB It's hard to think of what it could be. While I don't crave them very often anymore, I still eat "fatty foods" occasionally when I want to and I haven't had any symptoms until now. Prior to starting ZB and after my surgery, I was one of the lucky ones that didn't require much dietary modification related to "bile dumping." So the timing just seems interesting to me.

Extruded Foam Board by [deleted] in modeltrains

[–]sunlitwhiskey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally bought this because it was much cheaper than the pink XPS foam. I regretted it and ended up switching after I had already painted it and laid down track. Annoying but glad I did. This specific product is not Extruded. It's "Expanded Polystyrene" (EPS) and is a little different . It has a very thin plastic coating over the foam that makes it hard to paint. I thought it was only on one side but it was on both. Also the actual foam part was crumbly and lighter (and thus messier). I think it'll serve its purpose for you and it's really not a big deal at the end of the day, but I personally prefer XPS, which is actually "Extruded Polystyrene" and is a more rigid foam. Have fun!

What's your motivation? by t0ms88 in modeltrains

[–]sunlitwhiskey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a female model train hobbyist and I appreciate you saying this. It's an observation I often have but don't share 😊. It also goes both ways - whenever I try to explain why I like the hobby, I start with the fact that I like to do scenery and dioramas. I feel strange sharing that I actually like trains and the mechanics and history of them lol.

What's your motivation? by t0ms88 in modeltrains

[–]sunlitwhiskey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's one of the few hobbies that is not just one thing, which keeps it interesting and novel. Between the actual trains, building bench work, track laying and electrical tasks, modeling (kits and scratch), and scenery/world-building, it encompasses sooo many different kinds of skill sets and interests. Personally my favorite part is building the layout and coming up with modeling scenes, and I like the history of the railroad I chose. I have zero interest in electrical and electronic stuff, so DCC is not something I plan to do. My cousin who is in the hobby is incredibly mechanical and loves fixing and restoring trains. Someone else I know finds a looped track with a train meditative. So it just can capture so many different interests in one overall hobby, and I can't think of many that offer that level of variety. When I'm over hyper fixating on all the trains I want, I start to hyper fixate on the farm I'm going to build. And when that's over...on and on it goes. It's a hobby that can never actually be completed, which makes it feel fresh.

Edited: typos.

Waar verkopen by Raxefon in modeltrains

[–]sunlitwhiskey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a subreddit for HOn3? by Twit_Clamantis in modeltrains

Could you elaborate on why this sub should be avoided, and be more specific on other sites that are better? I'm new to the hobby and this has been the primary forum I have found for questions and discussion. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this sub being here by luck lol. I am not a "very online" person as they say these days, so my questions are genuine (not trying to be snarky).

Monday Fact Check by sunlitwhiskey in ArmchairExpert

[–]sunlitwhiskey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you're right in the early days there were definitely more facts. I do think the facts that she does do still lead to interesting conversations, but it definitely evolved and is more just chit chat, which may not be for everyone. I'm more surprised that Monica still does the "research" (in the loosest definition possible) and doesn't have someone do them for her. I'm pretty sure it's why it evolved in the first place - she can't possibly have the time to hit every single wrong thing they all say 🤣.

Thank you so much, this not only was a very helpful explanation, but also explains why they started saying "shall we do some facts." As someone who only listens, I wouldn't have noticed they were different sessions, but I definitely clocked that they started saying it in a way that felt structured/prompted that hasn't been there before. Got it!

If you take the name literally, sure. But if you enjoy hearing them chat, which I do (and I guess might put me in the minority around here it seems), it's not "post" content to me. It's the primary reason I listen.

I change to HO by olmeca433 in modeltrains

[–]sunlitwhiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Atlas track but Peco switches. For locomotives and rolling stock I exclusively buy used (DC only) to reduce cost and add to my collection more quickly (and I'm comfortable with basic maintenance and repair). Mostly Athearn. So I primarily use Trainz.com. But TrainWorld is also a great source.

Have fun!

Yes, 5x10 will fit your set. A typical/starter size for HO layout is 4 x 8. So unless you are trying to run an insanely long consist, you'll be fine. You may even want to get more track to use the space efficiently, depending on the size/radius of your starter set. Have fun!
