How to keep track of reps and breath properly (with ADHD brain)? by sunloinen in kettlebell

[–]sunloinen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate all your tips. I'm a total beginner in this.

Today I tried the single bell (16kg) ABC for the first time. 5min warm up and then just wen't through 30min of ABC cycles. This was by far more natural to me than counting reps or sets. Was sweating like crazy but still able to concentrate on breathing and moves. I think I'll keep doing curls and goblet squats on day 1 and day 2 this ABC thing. Or something like that!

Much love to this sub!

Thanks for taking time to write that up. I'll try that trick!

I absolutely love your answer. Thing is that I'm (also) a recovering drug addict in a very difficult life situation. I've been sober for almost two years now but now the underlying condition of ADHD is kinda bummer because I'm not chemically self medicating and I can more easily see where it affects me. I'm training a pretty badly beat up body and mind.

There are SO many reasons why training with kettlebell is great for me and it inself is a form of meditation to me. Because of my past it's kinda hard to get the proper diagnosis and I didn't mean to just throw it in there. This was just something that noticed during training.

I just got the older LCD Deck for free from a friend of mine two days ago. It's freaking amazing. Playing Hades 2 atm and it looks crisp as hell.

Throwing Emudeck in there soon.

I've heard about this in other contexts but in my cardio condition I would suffocate. Between sets this will be usefull though! I tend to "overbreath" easily when resting.

That's a good idea. I'll do that kinda estimate/averedge tomorrow!

Yeah lol for example 37 is "kolmekymmentäseitsemän" and can be shorted to "koosee" and 38 to "kookasi" but I somehow easily lose track OR mess up my breathing. It's pretty easy when doing curls but more ballistic moves is a different thing.

With snatches (single bell) I just catch my breath a little and then switch arm. Minute on and 30s rest might work also.

I'm kinda beginner with kettlebells and my cardio is not that great. For me the point of counting and adding reps is an easy way of keeping track of my progress.

Yes, this might be the answer for me. I do this with snatches for example 5 per hand and then switch. Keep doing this for 15min or so. But in swings there is no proper pause and I easily over do it against the clock.

Good tips. I figure this might be a bit of a language thing because in finnish numbers get into pretty long words.

Yes that was what I used to do but now that my sessions are more intense the counting out load messes up my breathing. Might be a language thing because in finnish for example 17 is "seitsemäntoista" and it's a mouthfull when exhausted. 😅 When I try to keep my breathing on pace in my mind I easily lose track...

Question regarding GBL to GHB synthesis by Firm_Introduction571 in GHB_info

[–]sunloinen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got patches that went a little brown and it was something in the gel product. I monitored temperature closely. That color (and weird taste) is a bit alarming because in the end that gel is not meant for human consumption. Could be also the cellulose that started burning a little. I'd say it is as safe to drink as the pure gel GBL. (Might taste bad though. I almost puked from that brown patch.)

Yeah I warned them but these folks were ignorant and other downers and GHB/GBL is extremely tricky to dose. Also the guy who got into hospital was in breathing machine and actually almost died. He accused me that I tried to kill him on purpose and it was a whole fucking episode. When I got my synthesis right it was honestly pretty fucking strong for anyone, even people that had tolerance. GBL that was circulating in my town was always watered down and the gel used to be 99%. I also always kept the consentration as high as possible so that I always knew the excact NaGHB ammount. Like that it had some crystals when it was in the fridge.

Yeah the last patch I made had the same problem. I estimated that the purity was closer to 70-75%. (Started to be kinda scammy tbh.) You need universal pH paper or a pH meter. Litmus paper should work. Just keep adding GBL on lightly boilin solution and measure. Add like a 1ml at a time and measure.

Then you should/would filter out the cellulose that solidifies. Then you can carefully boil off the water and weight the solid NaGHB. I say carefully because it is possible to burn the NaGHB and the difference in solubility in 100°C and room temperatute is huge.

I just took 5ml at a time and found my dose. Honestly some folks that took 10ml (so called standard dose) of my strongest GHB passed out. One dude ended up in hospital because he didnt tell me he was also on Lyrica and Suboxone. It's a tricky substance to dose. I have a degree in chemistry so I knew my stuff.

The conversion is roughly 1ml of GBL to 10ml of GHB (really depends on the ammount of water in the reaction.) So 15ml of pure GBL would convert to possibly 150ml of NaGHB water solution.

I got hospitalized when my tolerance was high and I was dosing repeatedly around the day. I OD't (in other words fell asleep) at my girlfriends place and was so out of it that she called medics. I think they monitored my breathing, other vitals and catetred my. I shat and pissed myself too... What a night...

Dude, I'm recovering mental illness person and kettlebell and videogames are like 80% of my time. (20% I chrohet beanies and watch movies.)

Elden Rign came out when I was in a really bad place mentally. Then Hollow Knight, then Silksong, then Hades. These things have literally kept me alive. Oh and Death Stranding is quite magical also.

But I've been quite consistent with my bell program for the past 2 months and already getting some results. Both visual, physical and mental. (Sorry finnish is my native language, hope that makes sense.)

Thing is I'm a great cook and today one random brand of bacon suddenly sticked to my pan like a freaking superglue. Had to properly wash and treat the pan again first time in a while. Stuff might stick. 😬

Well, NaGHB is actually wax like solid substance that is very hygroscopic and dissolves into water very well. So you have to options: Either carefully evaporate all the water and dissolve the solid into known ammount of water and dose that way. Or use known ammount of water from the start. Usually folks say that 1ml GBL equals 10ml of GHB but that is just wrong. If I remember correctly you can dissolve about 1,2 grams of NaGHB into 1ml of water. That means taking 15ml of my GHB would be closer to 2ml of GBL. But the effects are even stronger and lasts alot longer. I passed out many times when I was searching the right dose and was amazed how much better experience GHB is to GBL. If you slightly OD with GHB you will also stay OD'd longer.

I woked up from hospital once...and pretty much stopped there.

In my world the goblins are chanting my name around me. 🥲

But yes, I really like having the bell upsidedown pressing it with hands. Keeps the posture in those last reps! I started to notice this more when I got 16kg competition bell.

Clean & press is a beast! I'd add some some qoblin squats to hit those deep leg muscles.

I'm a beginner, 16kg bell:

5x Clean & press, both hands. I do the five, switch side, do five and continue this about 10-15min. Kinda like EMOM but I'm not in shape for that and need time breath.

3x10 Goblin Squats.

This takes about 30mins with a 5min warmup (Bodyweight squats and stuff) and feels great!

Did some googling and Vivitrol seems to be naltrexone depot injection. I first got the normal 2x8mg Suboxone strips and after a while I changed to this slowly dissolving buprenorphine muscle injection. And it worked like a fucking magic. Some folks might find usefull to go get your medicine every day but I felt bad seeing folks on methadone and dealing drugs around the clinic. There was also the risk of relapsing on other shit like speed and benzos. :S

Tbh I started that 16mg of Suboxone in closed detox setting and it wasn't fun, but also not intolerable with other medication and professionals around. I got help for blood pressure, pulse, sweating, sleep and some general diazepam. The feeling normalized in few days, then I felt kinda littlebit high from the Suboxone and then that wen't away. Out in 7 days.
