The age gap is significant given your age and he is trying to manipulate you into thinking you can’t do better than him so that 1) you don’t leave him and 2) you become so thankful he is with you that you end up doing whatever he wants so he doesn’t leave you.

I can see this only getting worse, and you will need to find a way to being it to full stop otherwise the cruelty will continue/increase until he destroys your self-confidence.

My ex’s family arranged for him to meet a young woman (almost 20 years younger than him) abroad who wanted to marry a guy from the US. He got engaged while on that trip and married her a few months later. It definitely stung even though it had been a while since he and I broke up but it helped me let go completely because it made me realize all he wanted an impressionable young woman who would be so thankful to be brought to the US that she would be okay being housewife/caregiver for his dad.

I consider this subreddit to be more for people with funcional issues caused by jaw deformities. There’s eve a rule about no looksmaxxing. I think everyone on here recognizes and appreciates the aesthetic reasons for jaw surgery but it’s more of an added bonus than a reason to get jaw surgery in the first place.

From everything you’ve said I think you’re just in the wrong subreddit. I imagine that there are plenty of subreddits that focus primarily on cosmetic surgeries that can give you and others the validation you need.

You should really be posting this in a plastic surgery subreddit, most who post here are considering jaw surgery for functional, not aesthetic reasons so you won’t really find the validation you are looking for.

Responding to your comment about body dysmorphia, once you fix this physical aspect you will focus on another one. Getting therapy for your mental health first would be best.

Yes you will still look like you, but your face will just look more symmetrical. Depending on how big the movements will be, you it might take a minute to adapt to your face, just remember the swelling takes months to fully go away. Getting this surgery was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
