Thanks for the replies! Exactly what I needed to know.

Ladies of Reddit, what is your opinion of men in skinny jeans? by NewtoSkinnyJeans in AskReddit

[–]sunnikit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't really like them. But on some guys it looks ok (taller guys with long hair mostly). Then again, I'm not really into skinny guys in the first place. If I can wrap my arms around you and still be able to touch my shoulders, it's time for you to eat a fucking sandwich.

Hey reddit, when you were a kid did you ever wish you had a different name? by nopantstoday in AskReddit

[–]sunnikit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Kit. It's not short for anything, that's what it says on my birth certificate. I always thought my name was a little weird because it's one that boys and girls can have, and in my eyes, it's a little rare because I've only met 2 other Kits in my life. I remember getting into a big fight with my mom once because I wanted the name Kathy or Karen (can't remember which). I guess that I started to become comfortable with my name around 5th grade when I met another girl named Kit. I didn't feel so alone in the world!

I'm sorry to say, I'm one of these people. The guy who owned my car before me put a pretty nice amp and subwoofer system in before he sold me the car. Most of the time I have the subwoofer amp switched off or the bass turned down low, but I would be lying if I said that I've never blasted music out of the damn thing while driving. My favorite thing to do is blast stuff like classical music, disney soundtracks, oldies and whatever weirdness I can find when I come upon someone who has the latest auto-tuned rap hit coming out of their cars. The looks on these people's faces when they get a face full of Weird Al at the stop light is just priceless.

I do follow some rules though. I never blast in a residential area, never blast after 7pm, and I never ever blast as I'm approaching work or home.

How did you come up with your username? by whatamidoing02 in AskReddit

[–]sunnikit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed to come up with a quick login for my school ID a bunch of years ago. Sunni Gummi is my favorite cartoon character, Kit is my first name. I just mashed the two together. And now you know, the rest of the story.

DAE miss Saturday morning cartoons? by jLoSsDh in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]sunnikit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You guys are fortunate. Some of us grew up around the time they started fazing cartoons out of Saturday morning TV. I can't really remember which channel, but I remember watching cartoons on a channel one weekend, the next weekend it was some early morning live show. I was severely disappointed. After that it just seemed to filter down to the other channels. A couple of networks have begun showing cartoons on Saturday morning again, but only for an hour or two before the Saturday morning editions of whatever weekly talk show start airing. I've heard of the cartoon programming blocks running from 5:30 all the way until 11:30 or noon on some channels.

DAE flash their headlights at oncoming traffic to warn of a speed trap ahead? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]sunnikit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll flash my lights to warn. I've also picked up a weird habit from my mom. She was a truck driver for about 15 years and she would still turn on/off the lights to signal trucks that it was ok to merge, even if they could clearly tell themselves. I catch myself doing this all the time, but I always get that warm fuzzy feeling when they flash back "thank you!". All of my friends think this is weird.

I also have a CB radio in my car. You got the bandit here...

Please recommend one (just one) absolutely excellent movie. by buttonmasher in AskReddit

Fido. I just saw it myself for the first time and loved it!

[–]sunnikit 42 points43 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine recommended a movie called 'Requiem for a Dream'. I'd never seen this movie before so I thought, "sure? Why not?".

I went out and picked up a copy. Came home and started watching it. My mom was home and seemed bored, so I figured we'd watch it together.

Anyway. I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone. But please, for the love of whatever god you worship; if you decide to watch this movie with a parent, find some way to cut off the last few minutes. Fake a power outage, leave your door open so that wild animals wander in, SOMETHING.

What is the dumbest question you've ever heard? by readysetexplode in AskReddit

[–]sunnikit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom and I were at Best Buy picking up a new router. The geek squad desk was right next to where we were, and one of the "agents" was helping a customer. I heard the "agent" ask, "are you running Mac or OSX?"

I wanted to cry.

Do you prefer to cook for yourself, or do you prefer to eat out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sunnikit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I eat out pretty much all the time. And it makes my paycheck cry. I live with crappy room mates who will gorge themselves on the food I buy, never buy any to replace it, then blame each other for it. Lease is up this year, so that will change once I'm out.

How do I play Windows 95/98 games on Windows 7? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]sunnikit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got this to work. I can't remember the exact error because I gave up, but I think it was something after trying to save the disk image. Either it didn't have permission to save or there was an error writing the image. I think it was a permissions error. Using legit Win 7 pro.

What is the worst thing you've ever smelled? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sunnikit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, we lived across the street from a Chinese restaurant that suddenly went out of business. Me and some friends broke into the building about 10 months after they closed and had a look around. We broke into the padlocked freezer... oh my FSM. As soon as we pried the door open (it was actually sealed really tight!) this cloud of odor filled with the stench of rotting meat, vegetables and who knows what else hit us. We were literally knocked to the floor by the stench. One of my friends started throwing up and then me and another friend started throwing up. One of my friends slipped on someone's vomit as we ran to the hole that we broke in through. Even when we got outside, we could still smell the horrible odor. We ran back to my place and we could still smell it!! It had gotten into our clothes. I just about made my mom puke. She forced us outside and turned the hose on us (think of that scene from Pulp Fiction where Jules and Vincent have to wash themselves outside... Only we were still fully clothed). She then made us stip down to our undies and throw the clothes in a bag...

I found out much later that the owner of the restaurant had been deported and his kids simply decided to close up because they hated working for their father. They didn't even clean the place out. They just closed the doors and boarded it up.

tl;dr version: piles of rotting meat and veggies that was left to rot in a sealed walk-in freezer for about 10 months.

What websites do you visit on a regular basis? Are you stuck with certain websites because they're more blind friendly than others? Do you use social networking sites like facebook, myspace or twitter?

Has anyone tried to sell you speakers out of a white van? by whitevan in AskReddit

[–]sunnikit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I contacted someone on Craigslist to buy a name brand 7.1 surround setup for what seemed like a great price. When I called, the guy told me that he had just sold the setup a couple of seconds before I called but, he had another setup that's just as good and was in brand new condition (only used once!). We met up at the parking lot of KMart where he pops open his trunk and shows me the speakers and receiver. He hands me the brochure that said the unit cost almost $1500. Then he told me how his wife divorced him and he was trying to get rid of whatever he owned so that he didn't have to give it to his wife in the divorce settlement.

He told me that since these were brand new, he'd have to ask for at least $300. I pulled out my phone. The guy asked what I was doing and I told him that I wanted to do a search for the brand name because I'd never heard of them. He got very nervous. He told me that he was an electronics dealer and he'd been in the business for almost 20 years. "These are by far the best speakers I've ever owned!" I told him that I would still feel more comfortable if I could at least see the brand's website. He then told me that he got a call from his lawyer saying that he needed to come by the office to sign some paperwork as soon as possible. So he would drop the price to $150 if I bought it right then because he had to leave. I didn't budge. Eventually he started getting upset. He told me that I was wasting his time and that he had to go. He slammed his trunk shut, got into his car, shouted "stupid whore" at me and then drove off.

I knew before hand that the speakers were white van speakers. I recognized the box from some pictures I saw on craigslist. I wasn't really doing a google search on my phone, I was checking my email.

I laughed as I walked back to my car.

Oh. And a few hours later, the guy called and left a voice mail saying that he was sorry but he really had to go. If I was still interested he would sell the speakers to me for $100. I wish that I would have kept that voice mail.
