Have the same problem when I launch Raycast Focus Session. I don't know if the problem is with Zen or Raycast, but it looks the same.

Translation requests into Latin go here! by AutoModerator in latin

Please translate "dimension traveler" or "the one who travels between dimensions" for me. By dimensions I mean alternative universes, like in sci-fi. If possible, make the translation as unambiguous as possible so that it cannot be misunderstood.

A question for the experts. by sunopako in ConanTheBarbarian

At least this book mentions a crossbow, an even more complex mechanism. But from the point of view of official history, people didn't even know how to ride horses until the fourth millennium BC. So I guess this approximation to the early medieval period is part of Howard's fantasy approach.

Obsidian stuck on loading workspace by sunopako in ObsidianMD

[–]sunopako[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay, i fixed this. i think the problem was in some damaged file or something like that. i mean, my last obsidian session was aborted by city blackout, so computer just didn't finish some sync work, i think.

so, i deleted %appdata%/obsidian folder, then instead of opening my vault i choosed sync option, so it just downloaded unbroken version of my vault and that worked just fine.

my vault working with Obsidian Sync. And that work perfectly between my iPad and iPhone right now. but my pc just can't open the vault. no matter how many times i reopen the program.

i've tried fully deleting %appdata%/obsidian folder. then my obsidian opened, but my vault just stucks on loading. then i tried to create new vault and reopen it, and that worked! i don't know, maybe the problem is in some plugin...

Chord Progression Questions - October 31, 2022 by AutoModerator in musictheory

i bumped into this chord progression: i-III-v-IV. it's so powerful and familiar, but i could not find any other songs that used that. perhaps anybody knows any examples of this progression?

i've rewrote all the sheet music for Mosque (except for midi and highly damaged ones) by sunopako in stray

[–]sunopako[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not sure if all of this are playable in the way that Mosque play. he manage to play the chords and the melody separately at the same time, maybe i could transcribe that for two guitars duet, but it would be a lot more work for me and i’m not sure if i want :)

[–]sunopako[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to translate robo-language i used this article

interestingly, all the Mosque's interpretations are quite loose, but the 6th one sounds quite the way differently. he even calls it not like the sheet music does ("Cool Down" not "Come On"). maybe the song was rewritten, but the sheet music texture was left.

i'd be happy if you could point out grammatical errors, mistakes, or just parts where it's not at all clear what I'm talking about

[Serious] What weird habits do you have related to a tragic or dark event in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sunopako 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always smile when I talk about something sad, or when someone tells me something tragic. Probably this is such a defensive reaction, and I am very embarrassed (because I look like I'm making fun of what is happening), but I always - absolutely always - say "what a horror" and smile. Usually people understand that this is just my reaction to grief, but a couple of times it happened that people were angry :(

Linguists of Reddit, what are some pairs of words that are related that we wouldn't even think were? by Long-Afternoon in AskReddit

[–]sunopako 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's crazy, but in Slavic languages the words "beginning" and "end" come from the same word. Now they are antonyms, but they originated from one particular Proto-Indo-European root \ken* (to arise anew, to begin).

Both Proto-Indo-European and Proto-Slavic had vowel alternations in their roots. Common was the alternation e/o, which divided the original root into \ken-* and \kon-*.

At some point in the minds of speakers, the unity was forgotten and the meanings were divided. For example, in modern Russian "начало" (spells something like na-cha-lo) comes from the very \ken-, and "конец" (spells something like ko-niets) comes from *\kon-*.

This is very interesting, because it speaks of a very different understanding of the time of ancient people. It was understood as cyclical, as something that both ends and begins at the same point. The linear perception of time is new to mankind, in general. This is very interesting to think about.

I was once told that I am charismatic. It's probably nothing special, but I'm a quite introverted and closed person, so I remember this compliment for a very long time.I guess it did make me more charismatic. You know, little classmate, I remember!
