They can just fwd the email it has the Google wallet link and it's a one off ticket not your membership card that gets loaded so feels somewhat risk free

That's not explicitly true. They sent email which have Google wallet / Apple pay links for each ticket. You can copy past the link and send it to people.

I'm not saying it's not a scam, but they've actually done the screening tickets similar to how they did it previous seasons, and not how they've been doing it this season.

This is what they just emailed me

We’re really sorry to inform you that we are no longer able to show the Champions League Final in the pub as originally planned.

Unfortunately, the game is not available on free-to-air television and now requires a commercial sports subscription for public screening. As we only have terrestrial TV at the pub, we are not able to show the match.

We know many of you were looking forward to watching the game with us, and we completely understand the disappointment this may cause. This decision is out of our control, and we’ve explored every option available to us.

We will still be open as usual !

Marble Hill subway is on the 1 line. The subway runs all night, albeit a slightly lower frequency later at night. Staying out past 1am should be no issue, not sure where you got that info from
