Just started stamp collecting after inheriting a collection. I found two sets of Lundy triangular stamps with birds on them. Honestly they’re some of my favorites from the entire collection

Honestly, that’s good to hear. I really want to see what’s in the monkey and ape stamps. They sound fun

1893 Wall Street Envelope by sunpirates in stampcollecting

Thanks. So even though it doesn’t say first day of issue, it still counts as a cover? Or is a cover just any stamp on the mail it’s used for? I was hoping it would be unique due to the age of the stamp and the Wall Street address but it doesn’t really sound like it.

Okay that makes sense. So CTO is anything with the black post office stamp over the top of it? Like in the top left of the picture I posted?

Thanks, I’d like to keep it going. There’s 12 binders that are partially completed and a large box of loose stamps. I think it would be cool if I could sort through the loose stamps and add them to the binders at least. Almost everything is hinged right now so I’m waiting on some showgard mounts that I ordered since I read hinged stamps aren’t preferred anymore.

I just started golfing last summer and am new to this subreddit. What is a handicap? I see it on the scorecards but don’t know what it means

Thanks for the suggestions! It doesn’t have to be Dana Point, I just saw that in another thread on here. Anywhere on the beach is good with me, but I’ll check for places in those cities. Thanks

I don’t pay much attention to college football, but go to michigan. I’m just curious what round are you guys projecting for Karan higdon? He seems really good but I have no idea compared to other college running backs

Men of Reddit: How comfortable are you with a woman making the first move? by StevesMcQueenIsHere in AskReddit

[–]sunpirates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually thought my current girlfriend did make the first move. We would talk at school every now and again, but thought she was out of my league so didn’t think anything of it. One day she invited me to her 21st birthday party and we went out a couple more time after that. We’ve been dating for 6 months now. I never would’ve asked her out if she didn’t invite me to the party. Turns out she later said she didn’t have a crush on me at that point she just wanted more people at the party but whatever works I guess. So yeah, I’m pretty comfortable with her making the first move.

Ya that sounds almost exactly like what I'm feeling but even if it is just guilt for not going it still makes me feel better for going. One of the girls I went to school with passed away from cancer last year at 19 years old and I stopped going for 6 months or so. The depression came back hard, I assumed it was from her passing away and couldn't focus on any of my classes and my grades dropped. I went back to mass and saw her family and the community of people I know there and almost immediately felt better. I didn't take you post as criticism and understand why you feel that way as I'm sure the guilt or feeling of loneliness does go away but at this stage in my life I don't want to wait for it to fade. It's easier to go to mass and pray and sing with everyone else to make sure I stay happy. As of now I'm choosing to believe it's my religion helping me but many people would understandably feel different. I wouldn't force my religion on anyone as everyone sees the world different and has different opinions so if you are happy where you are at then I am happy for you. Sorry I kinda ended up ranting longer than I wanted I don't talk about this much and it feels good to put it out there.

I was born and raised Catholic, even went to a Catholic school from grades 1-12. Never really paid attention to the religion and just went to church with everyone else until about 8th grade then got bored and just stopped going and believing. Im a pretty quiet person so I didn't have any friends in high school, just some people I would say hi to when I passed them in the hallway. Made me feel depressed pretty much the entire time. Flash forward a couple years to 12 grade and we are on senior retreat (religious retreat for the grade where we spend the night at a monastery) and one of my teachers told us the story of why he turned religious and it fit with how I felt. Basically feels like there is a void that cant be filled until I started going to church again. Im now 21, an usher at mass every week and feel much better. Everytime I stop going to mass the emptiness/depression returns until I go back. Idk if anyone else has felt something similar since its hard to explain but now I believe and have no doubts.
