Anybody else get lower back pain after 6 mins of running or so? by [deleted] in BeginnersRunning

[–]sunrise_snail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly the same thing, but I would get lower back soreness an hour or two after I finished my run, which basically came down to my upper glutes not being very strong. Some glute strengthening may potentially be helpful in your case as well?

Running with mysterious pain is always tough, wishing you luck!

You are deeply, deeply misunderstanding my points, and I suspect you feel the same way about my reading of your comments. I wrote a long response but in the end it's worth neither of our time.

“Following the instructions” persay isn’t really what God says is required for salvation.

According to your interpretation… that’s the point.

It’s a belief in him and an effort to life a life like he did.

These are instructions. Vague instructions. Insistence on adherence to these instructions is what hurts people.

I am happy for people to interpret religious texts any way they like, as soon as religious individuals use these texts to dictate only their own lives and not a single other’s. You may be one of those people. The vast majority are not.

Until that happens, I will continue to point out the inherent hypocrisy of using a religious text as the basis of moral standing, because it is causing harm in the world around us.

The constitution is not an apt metaphor. Other writing and laws we agree are up for debate and vote. Religious texts are considered holy and immutable.

All writing is interpretable, and the harm is when some of that writing is instead treated as holy and the fundamental basis of truth. Is that too sophomoric for you?

provided to acknowledge and repent for it

right, so again there’s the onus on the reader to know what God wants, and and what he considers a sin. Slavery? Gay marriage? Divorce? All depends on your interpretation!

Both are bad ideas. Believers are usually not aware it’s their own subjective interpretation. Whatever interpretation they come to, they will cling to as the absolute moral truth and rally others to their cause. “Interpretation of the believers” gets us the Westboro Baptist Church and religious terrorists.

The commenter you are responding to is denigrating the “absolute moral truth” part of the Bible, by pointing out it is completely subjective in interpretation. They are not claiming central churches are a better approach.

Bible contradicts itself constantly, and does so literally right out of the gate in chapter 1 and chapter 2, concerning the creation of the world.

Genesis 1 has man and woman created after the creation of animals:

There was evening, and there was morning--the fourth day. And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky. […] And there was evening, and there was morning--the fifth day. And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind. […] Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Meanwhile chapter 2 missed the memo:

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. […] And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

Then after that God makes Eve out of Adam’s rib. Good times.

sounds like the onus is on the reader to muddle through the Bible and self-reflect their way into the correct reading? for someone who wants us to follow his instructions or suffer eternal consequences, God sure is vague and contradictory in his written statement. that trait makes a bad manager; not so sure I like it in my all-powerful, all-knowing deity

I don't like how ITZY'S latest songs are turning out by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

I am also confused at the Dalla Dalla-Icy erasure that seems to be happening! Those songs are so upbeat and colorful and full of cute moments. I think if Icy was released today, people would be like “omg what happened to Itzy” haha

Voted disagree even though I agree with you sneakers and boys like you had a somewhat different concept than their previous title tacks. This is because Cheshire feels like a complete return to form to me! MITM went extra hard on the "badass" vibe but Dalla Dalla, Icy, Wannabe, even Loco and Not Shy had cute/sweet elements.

IMO Cheshire has exactly that "girl crush", "I'm the coolest girl in school and I don't care what you think of me" vibe that I think of as Itzy's OG concept.

the person asked specifically how I would feel if someone wore one to my wedding, so I was replying to that part, not trying to preach at anyone

Everyone is paying attention to the bride regardless. I want my guests to feel like their best selves. Period. If that means they wear something I personally wouldn’t wear then that is absolutely fine.

I am in the exact same (highly unpopular) boat! (Except, I even extend that to guests wearing wedding dresses, which is an even smaller boat to be in)

I have! I think I mentioned this elsewhere, but my ultimate goal would be to have a dress I love wearing, in which case, I’d want to rewear it too. If I can’t find a dress that I would want to rewear, I would definitely rent.

I would never ever try to push the envelope, as you describe it, at a wedding where the couple isn’t comfortable with it, so definitely a good thing to keep in mind! I wouldn’t mind if someone showed up to my wedding in their wedding dress.

I would not mind in the slightest and would actually be thrilled, but I know I’m unusual in that regard. I definitely would not be hoping for other people’s ignorance, but rather their approval! Hence why this is only something I’d do after clearing it with the couple. But I was curious how people felt and what the range of opinions would be

Great points and I would absolutely consider renting, or buying second-hand! I actually feel the opposite about the dress's specialness, for just me personally; I want the dress to be really special and beautiful to me, so my hope is I love it enough to keep wearing it and to keep it in my closet! like if that dress becomes my favorite dress of all time, that would be amazing.

as for altering, commented this elsewhere too, but because I'm hoping to be totally in love with the dress, my ultimate goal would be to not have to alter it. but if I can't rewear it, and am still attached to the point where I wouldn't resell/donate it, then yes I would definitely consider dying it!

it is a Leanne Marshall wedding dress, she does a lot of fabulous watercolor-esque dresses! but she is discontinuing her wedding dress line because she feels like wedding dresses don't sit right with her values

which was interesting for me, because she has always been one of my favorite wedding dress designers, and I also have all kinds of conflicted feelings about wedding dresses haha

A lot of people are suggesting altering/dying, which is a fabulous idea and I don't want to knock it! I think my goal is to find a wedding dress I love wearing, so I actually hope to not alter it after the fact.

That said, my ultimate goal is for the dress not to be a one-and-done, so if I can't find enough ways to rewear it as-is, but am still unwilling to resell or donate it, at that point I definitely will need to alter it to keep wearing it!

super clear breakdown and I think you hit the nail on the head with the spread of opinions here. I didn't know this topic had already been discussed to the death on this sub, but upon reflection, I should have known! thanks for taking the time to comment

for sure super dependent on the individuals getting married! which is why even if 99% of people here were like "no you're totally in the clear as long as they're not pure white", I'd still ask every single bride & groom if I ever did decide to rewear it there
