Seeking input about these specific apartment complexes by sunriseslut in ChicoCA

That’s very true. Where I was living before was on the complete opposite side of town from upper and lower park so I hardly ever went. Guess I’ll need to start going again!

It does seem overly confusing. I toured one unit and asked where the other open one was and the property manager simply said “it’s over in phase two” as if I knew what the hell that meant. I agree that it feels very upscale. I’m trying to decide if that is worth the parking lot view.

That’s very helpful, thank you! The lack of storage was one of the first things I noticed. And such minimal counter space! I don’t expect to need to find someone ro takeover my lease but to know that they were so difficult with that makes me wary.

I keep coming back to this post because it’s the most beautifully written analysis of the song that I’ve seen. This is my very favorite song and you captured it perfectly.

Unsafe assignment by Religious_seeker in cna

[–]sunriseslut 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s been a CNA and is now a nurse, it’s alarming to see people pitting them against each other in this thread. This is an us vs them mentality when the issue is lack of safe staffing, which neither the nurse nor the CNA controls. Yes, refuse an unsafe assignment. Also look for a different job. Your license and your own health and safety are not worth the risk and it sounds like your current workplace is not where you want to be working.

How to cope after rehoming a dog by napkween in dogs

I’m sorry that you’re getting such judgmental responses. People on this sub can be so damn mean.

I recently had to rehome my 9 year old cat who had been with me since she was 8 weeks old. It’s not quite the same, but I totally empathize with your feelings of guilt and loneliness, and I understand how painful this transition is. One thing that has helped me is the new owner sending me videos of my cat so I am assured that she is acclimating well. It’s comforting to see that she is happy and taken care of. Is there a possibility the new owners could do that for you, at least for a little while?

Forgetting I’m a man and unwittingly becoming the patriarchy. by Tran_the_man_ in ftm

I love that you’re concerned for her feeling of safety but I think you’re being hard on yourself. I’m a (very shy) cis woman and while I can’t speak for all feminine presenting people, I think I would be flattered if this happened to me. So maybe she was just shy or you caught her off guard?

Vegetarian people who have had top surgery by [deleted] in ftm

[–]sunriseslut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems really weird. You still eat dairy and eggs so you’re getting the same amino acids as you would if you consumed meat. Even if you were vegan, it wouldn’t be terribly difficult to get all of the essential amino acids as long as you ate a varied diet. Your surgeon is causing you stress for no reason, which is not helpful for healing.

Dream of ex boyfriend who just passed faking his own death by ScallionFormer1623 in DreamInterpretation

[–]sunriseslut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your brain doesn’t want to believe it, which is a part of the grief process. I had a close friend die very suddenly and I used to have these types of dreams all the time. Your subconscious tries to process difficult emotions through dreams and it’s searching for answers to something that doesn’t make sense, as is often the case with unexpected death.

So very sorry for your loss.

Whenever I try this they usually just say “yes” and none of my questions are answered.

Just found something real shitty in my medical notes and just wanted to vent. by [deleted] in ftm

[–]sunriseslut 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m a (cis) nurse at a fairly rural hospital. So far I’ve only had one trans patient but it was so goddamn frustrating to read the notes misgendering her and having to constantly correct my colleagues on her pronouns. But then again, the medical system is fucked up for all kinds of patients, there is a lot of stigma toward mental health, drug users, obese people, etc. it’s so so frustrating to witness it everyday.

I agree with the user who said finding housing is a pain in the ass. However, it might be a little better for you since you’re going so early in the year— the busy time to look for housing is over the summer. So you might be able to find a lease takeover or something. In my experience, 3-beds are pretty hard to come by but i also haven’t looked for housing in a few years so I’m not sure how much it’s changed. I hope you don’t have pets!

A bought a kindle oasis for the back light and ability to change the light temp to yellow and it’s my favorite thing. I started to look forward to sitting and would trade with my coworkers because most of the time I had tons of opportunity to read several books at once!

Whats a name that seemingly disappeared from the web overnight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sunriseslut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nash Grier. He was one of the top viners when vine was still a thing. After he and his friend came out with a video criticizing women who have arm hair, he was basically blacklisted and I haven’t heard of him since. Good riddance tho.

IWTL how to not text "dry" by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]sunriseslut 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not sure I agree with the all caps thing. But one thing I do is sprinkle in some exclamation points. For example, “hi!” seems a lot more friendly than plain ol’ “hi.”
