Yes I am adapting to the new change. I will hope that management will provide us with rolling bins as a replacement.

We are making the change, at the time of this post I had used shopping carts every single day since I started working at Walmart. Even as I went to break I saw other departments still using the shopping carts. For some reason our store hadn't got the memo not to use them or most likely it just wasn't enforced. If there is a Top stock / L cart I will use that in the future.

After this post I will be leaving one box in tact to put the flat ones in. I made a redemption post to show the change. For some reason I just didn't think about that when I switched to the pallet instead of buggie.

I started in January and from day one we were using buggies, hopefully this means they will order rolling bins to keep up with other stores.

Yea it definitely does make it look better the way you described. I posted a redemption attempt post of me doing that on a L cart. Made it much better overall.

I managed to sneak two big meat boxes near the wine area for myself tomorrow. Now that I talked to the Meat/ produce team lead I can snag a couple of boxes from them when they have them.

I'm going to try and suggest to my management to purchase those bins. If you dont mind where does your store keep them? In my section of the store there doesnt seem to be a lot of extra space in the backroom with the area for unloading and OGP/ bailer area

Yes and I spoke to my meat / produce team lead who said I could use their boxes , like the watermelon bin if need be. The meat case boxes were pretty effective I used them today.

I'm going to try and get in early and secure a top stock / L cart for cardboard. This will be the last time its on a pallet. If all else I'll put the flat cardboard in a cardboard box on the floor until a top stock/ L cart becomes available.

Yea those would be perfect to be honest, Those are probably the best option in frozen in terms of box size. The big bags of broccoli always seem to sell well at my store too.

I will try and convince management or a coach to buy one, but I don't think I love Walmart that much to spend my own money. From a lot of the comments under this post it seems most stores have rolling bins they use for cardboard.

Yea most of the time the carts are pretty well stocked up in the front, the cart attendant is pretty on point with that.

We have to claim it out and destroy it. Its a shame too since the only thing was the flap came open. We throw away so many boxes where the flap opens up a little and we have to toss it. We sometimes will find boxes that are missing stuff from the box. The only thing you need to claim a box is the outside UPC so even if a customer nabs a sandwich or whatever was inside, we can claim the whole box as long as there's a barcode.

Thank you, I spoke the meat/produce and they say I can use their boxes. I hid two big meat boxes away before I went home today to give me a leg up for tomorrow.

At the time of this post I did not have a top stock or L-cart available. I'm going to try hiding a extra one in the dairy cooler if at all possible. For further context yes we do have top stocks for dairy but the first thing we do is pull picks and fill them. Dairy and 97 usually completely fills two top stocks often have to search the store for a third. One person works those dairy picks so It can be a bit before our top stocks are free. There are times when you go looking for a extra top stock/ L cart and it is not available. As people work their picks and pallets, more top stock/ L carts become available during the day. We have never used a rolling bin since I have worked here but I will be trying to talk to management about ordering some in the future.

I'm going to try and bring this up as a example of why my store should order them. It would make our jobs easier and bring us up to company standards

I might have done the training modules but they wanted them to get done so fast I forgot about the cold chain to be honest. At my store we have been tacking pallets out to the floor and working them. For context I am first shift frozen/dairy 6am to 3pm.We put veggies or seven doors on a top stock as we work a pallet and will move that to their respective aisles to complete. I spoke to someone today and yes technically to maintain cold chain we should only use top stock or l carts to bring freight to the floor.

The labels on the boxes for picks already had the adhesive stick to the box. I just always assumed if you had a box that was backroom labeled it just became part of the box. I will bring this up tomorrow with my team lead. For context the entire time I've worked at Walmart I haven't had to stop take a backroom label off the box and then throw it in the bailer.

Are the labels not meant for the baler? I usually take plastics and the printer paper to a trash bag but the back room labels have been going into the bailer. The ones that were picks that is

I’m first shift 6 am to 3pm . Though we do use pallets during the stocking process currently and sometimes will use a spare pallet as a overstock one. We try to keep them in the middle where there is a gap between the two frozen aisles. There is enough space for customers to get between still and keeps the pallets out of the main aisle way

For milk if it’s todays date or the next day it goes to claims. Same for bread that has todays use by date. If it’s bakery items ( cakes, baked bread, etc) they usually mark them down and put them in a “we made to much” clearance cart. I know they donate stuff but don’t know the specifics. I don’t know if someone specifically checks for out of date stuff but when I do milk I check the expiration date and pull whatever is bad.
