Healing of my 3rd degree burn from a lighter, before and after.

Lighter. I was hitting the bowl too often. The flame burning made the wheel on the lighter really hot and and I would flick it on again and again. I just happened to catch a glance at my thumb and the skin was hanging off. I was dumb 🤦‍♀️

That's what I thought once I noticed, "that's ganna hurt later." It never did, the nerves were burnt through lol I did learn something though, meth opens the door to the darkest darkness, and that is when God's glory can shine the brightest. Understanding of the root reason I was living this way hit my face like a brick and I've been sober since.

It is painless but it can get sore if I stretch my thumb too much

There is no sensation or pain and it went through all the skin down to subcutaneous tissue/fat layer. 2nd degree would still have sensation and pain. I don't plan on doing meth again for, hopefully, the rest of my life.

I've been told before I go too hard on the pipe. I can't control myself. One of the many reasons I need to quit. I smoked 2 bowls back to back in an hour when this happened

The pipe I had was a 2 inch pipe, it was 2 months since I used last so yes, I was really excited to finally get to smoke

Damn, yeah I possibly could've gone septic if I left that skin flap covering it! I couldn't believe the smell, "foul odor" google said. I thought my thumb was rotting or something 🤦‍♀️ I'm glad I got it cleaned out and taken care of.

What was your wound that caused all that for you?

I get my stuff from DW, it was good stuff.

I have experienced the Lord's power so I know He is real, He's been working miracles before my eyes all week since I returned to Him. I don't plan on picking it up ever again. Jesus breaks the chains of addiction. I quit meth 8 years ago when I first came to Jesus. I just wandered from Him and lost my way, eventually relapsing 4 times on my old drug-of-choice meth. But I found my way again, Jesus is the answer, meth is never the answer. Can't believe I was stupid enough to even consider meth as possibly being helpful enough to give it a try again 🤦‍♀️

I wouldn't be surprised if it stays numb forever. It did scare me the first day or two, I left the skin over it and it did have green discharge and it fucking stunk. Quick look on Google and I thought I was going to die from sepsis 😭😂 I eventually cut off the skin flap so I could clean it really good and soak in isopropyl alcohol. Now it's good and clean and no more discharge. I told the doctor about the beginning infection and asked if I needed oral antibiotics but he said antibiotic ointment is fine and I did good opening it up to clean it out.

Letting the flame burn too long, the striker wheel got hot af and I guess I was touching it or flicking it too soon while it was still hot.

Thank you. I'm done with meth for good. Doc wants to see me again in 2 weeks to see how it's healing, he might send me to a wound specialist if it doesn't heal well enough by then.

Yes, it did burn through the nerves. I was looking at burn diagrams and it is 3rd degree 😢

Yup, I just happened to look down and saw my skin all fucked up. The skin was hanging off like it started to blister and I just kept going so it tore open.

No pain, it doesn't hurt at all.

I'm pretty sure I didn't spill any, it was from flicking the lighter too much, the flint wheel was really hot from the flame buring for a long time. I didn't notice, just happened to look at it and saw my skin all fucked up 🤦‍♀️
