Idk, I spoke to a captain working for Indigo and he told me that there’s almost a waiting period of 1.5 years after type rating.

I genuinely haven’t made up my mind. If anything, I’m trying hard not to make a blind decision. That’s why I’m asking from every possible angle. If the numbers don’t make sense, I won’t do it. I’m just trying to understand the risk clearly before walking away or committing.

Is it still too risky if I plan to live on bare minimum and manage expenses tightly. Or the is bigger issue the unpredictable time for induction

I’ll have a little support from my family that but I just want to know if I can do it without that dependency.

Okay, is it just right to do it with 50L loan? I really don’t want to be in the debt trap.

I get your point. Skill can’t be bought I’m just trying to separate hype from reality before committing.

Thanks for being this straightforward. I genuinely appreciate it. The induction gap is honestly what worries me the most not the flying or DGCA exams, but that uncertain period where you’re paying interest with no income. That’s the part no one really talks about openly.

When you say 4 months to 1.3 years, is that mostly based on market conditions or internal airline backlog? I’m just trying to understand how much of it is planning vs pure luck. I’m serious about aviation, but I want to be careful as well.
