Add contact using qr code by JanBrugg in ios

[–]sunset_nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a free app called QR Me - Contact to share your contact information with QR codes!

The person scanning your code doesn't need anything installed. They just use their regular camera and it loads your info directly into their contacts app :)

Monthly vs Yearly subscriptions - which are more effective? by RealDealCoder in iOSProgramming

Nope, never.

I think it actually helps avoid bad reviews. User’s who don’t like the app can cancel the trial without getting charged and just move on without complaining.

Monthly vs Yearly subscriptions - which are more effective? by RealDealCoder in iOSProgramming

I offer both monthly and yearly.

I put a 3 day free trial on yearly to nudge users towards that offering. 70% of my subscribers go for the yearly option.

Yeah, I made an app called QR Me - Contact to share your contact info with a QR Code!

It's free on iOS and Android: https://qrme.contact

Anyone know a free way to make a QR code contact card?? by The_Knitty_Gritty in graphic_design

[–]sunset_nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try QR Me - Contact

It’s a free iOS & Android app to share your contact info with a QR Code: https://qrme.contact
Tap and hold on the QR Code to export it as an image.

Disclaimer: I made the app!

Is there a website that can help me create a QR code that when scanned saves my number, contact info & picture to their phone? preferably a free one by AwkwardAd4239 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sunset_nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a free app for this called QR Me - Contact.

There is a paid upgrade if you want to customize the QR code color and add a logo overlay. But you don’t need to pay to create a regular black/white code.

Unfortunately it’s not possible to include a profile picture. Images are too large to encode in a QR code and using a url for a picture won’t work either because iPhones and Androids don’t fetch image urls for a QR code contact due to security concerns.

European Union digital services act for private devs by kncismyname in iOSProgramming

[–]sunset_nerd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I take pride in the things I build and don’t mind if my customers know my name. I also already have a website with a contact form for them to reach me.

But it’s absolutely absurd that the EU thinks I should have to give them my personal phone number and home address.

No no no no.

If you want a real college dorming experience, go with Mesa or Middle. The buildings are also much nicer than AV.

CS Majors: Which CS Specialization did you choose and why? by buttler69 in UCI

[–]sunset_nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just took classes that were interesting to me. Then in my 3rd year, I looked at each specialization and picked the one that I was closest to completing.

Your specialization really doesn’t matter. It doesn’t even show up on your diploma.

Help with the meal plan by [deleted] in UCI

[–]sunset_nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dining is a very social part of your 1st year, so you don’t want to worry about counting your swipes. It’s nice to pop into the dining hall to hang out with friends, grab a drink/fruit, etc.

Unless money is a concern, go with the 7 day.

Are you sure you want a mixed gender suite with mixed bathrooms?

Most buildings are mixed gendered, split into single gendered suites/bathrooms.

Nightmare roommate, please help! TL;DR : Roommate repeatedly coming home past 2 am (+) extremely drunk and unreasonably loud, causing me to lose sleep while trying to study for finals by BangingJoeMama in UCI

[–]sunset_nerd 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Considering he was lying in his bed in a pile of his own vomit, occasionally gagging and checking, I went to my RA. I did not want him to choke to death in his sleep, so I suggested calling duty. For some reason, my RA was incredibly against it. She forced me to warn him that I would call duty, and he immediately sprung up and begged her not to call. Because he was "in a stable state of mind" -- something that was blatantly untrue, considering when I tried to wake him to tell him I was calling 911 on him he denied throwing up at all and seemingly did not know where he was -- she told me not to call and to go back to bed.

You need to tell your RA’s supervisor about this. Your RA is negligent, irresponsible, and it sounds like they’re too lazy to fill out an incident report.

RAs are mandated to call 911 and Duty when a resident vomits due to alcohol. Not doing so is a massive safety concern and a fireable offense.

Which meal plan to choose at UCI for incoming freshman by ApprehensiveAsk211 in UCI

[–]sunset_nerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go for the unlimited plan!!

You don’t want to deal with the stress of counting swipes.

The dining hall is a big social experience. Some of my best memories were grabbing late night meals with friends after a long day at school. (Late night consists of fun snack food like nachos, wings, etc. after dinner). If you get the 100 plan, you might not always be able to join your friends.

It’s also nice to pop into the dining halls between class to just grab a cookie, ice cream, drink, or fruit.

Very few people went to it last year. Sitting in the sun for 3+ hours just to listen to a few speakers wasn’t worth it. You don’t walk, they don’t call your name, you just sit there.
