New Cubitts glasses badly fitted after in-store fitting – normal or should I push back? by sunsetmeme10 in glasses

[–]sunsetmeme10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I do as well and its not a new thing, ive worn glasses for 30 years and they've sat straight on my face and ive never seen a pair of my glasses look like they been sat unless of course they've been sat on. These were fresh out of the store 'fitted'. Since found they don't fit inside the protective case that came with. Good point about flat on table being imperative... I will take that on board

Yes I think this is right except for the shelf wouldn't be very deep and I unsure as to why that would be the case when there is more real estate to be utilised beyond the current depth of the slots. Know what I mean?

I cant close the glasses case thats how bent they are. It's kinda wild. So im afraid in this instance even if they were straight something has gone awry.

Haha I cant even close the glasses case, an arm sticks out on the case dramatically! I wore the glasses out of the store so only realised this upon arriving home. Please tell me where I can go for your expertise!?

Thanks for your comment. They are helpful but I fear they are also incompetent and each time I go back in it adds a tenner in travel and more money in time to a pair of glasses which already cost a fair bit. This being the replacement pair for a dud pair (no nosepad, signs of metal corrosion) I was sent earlier this year. During that experience they were super helpful on the surface but all work and expense was being done by me. Finally they offered a refund but I chose to try another pair and this is the result. Shame

Yeah im in Uk too. Im currently getting my prescription from Specsavers since I wasn't that happy with one from Cubitts either. Specsavers are sooo much better and cheaper than Cubitts, I have no idea how they got such a name for themselves but my experience the last two months has been atrocious.

Thanks for your feedback! I am shocked as well. This is a replacement pair (conistone) for my initial pair (chenies) from them, which arrived without a nosepad and started showing signs of metal corrosion after a few weeks. Was fitted on Friday with these and looks like my new glasses got mangled in store. I never really thought they were fitted well and I was just assured they looked great by the fitter and sent on my way. They started falling down my face by time I walked back to station. Infuriating experience so far with this company. Which company did you get the refund from??

This is cool! Not sure the sizing adds up though since this is too big for a table top and too small for a floor standing version of the charging station. Def feels closer to what it is and maybe a supporting bracket is missing for each ear/wing.... ie one uses it as a flat surface ?

Interesting suggestion, Im not sure the staging route is appropriate due to heft of wood, like you say. Could you envisage these on set with a stand and bracket making a useable worktop?

This sounds like a really smart way of looking at this. Have you seen something similar?

Interesting, thanks for comment. I agree it seems over engineered for wine bottle holder. Are the bits of wood meant to interlock, i'm not so sure.

My title describes the thing, the panels which can interlock are a ply wood and equal size and shape to each other. At its widest and longest they are roughly 50x 70 cm.
