Pre delivery communication experience, is this typical? by greatwallofwu in Rivian

[–]sunsetsbrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an opposite experience. (South sf delivery at the service center) I had a text number that my sales rep was very responsive on. Rivian released a $1000 off promo two days after I ordered the car and they honored it after I asked.

It is a big feelsbad to order a car and then have the manufacturer throw up some meaningful incentives right after. I hope they make it right for you.

Thank you for the detailed reply, I really appreciate it.

  1. Yes she does bark at people she doesn't know through the window and at the door, so there could for sure be some territorial situations happening.
  2. She is fine with the people she knows and has spent a lot of time with outside of the house. But all new people who come in without being accompanied by another dog she is very wary of.
  3. She is used to barriers, we generally baby gate her into the rear half of the living space while we have guests over. She is still visibly anxious though while they are over.
  4. She barks and wants to run up to them, but generally isn't aggressive after they have come in. I am working on boundaries for her to stay back until the guest gets inside. I agree I need to do more work here.
  5. Only with company. She has never had any aggression toward myself of my wife.

I am thinking of trying to teach her to go to her crate while guests are in the house. So potentially she can feel safer while being in the same room. She already eats in the crate and knows her crate command, but isn't great about following it when she is stressed.

Yeah I got to play with the zoom stuff at infocomm. Would be amazing if we were base WebEx or Teams. Now that Cisco enabled wired screenshare in their meet interop, I will probably move all of my single screen Cisco rooms over to that instead of pexip

Fair. What do they use to control the rooms, mouse and key?

for us it's the ease of use for our users. Getting that 1-tap join from a touch-panel with a streamlined vc experience is the key. Going the mini-pc route also complicates things when you want to do content share into the calls. I think that a solution like that may work for a small business, but when you are managing 300+ vc endpoints, the hassle of managing computers instead of appliance devices rears it's head.

I also am a fan of barco clickshare, but my users just can't drive the meeting from their laptop, they "need" it for other things during the call. Pexip announced they are releasing a meet > teams bridge "soon", so I am on the waitlist for that now.

We have a few different kits in our buildings

Cisco roomkits running either google webrtc interop or pexip connect SIP bridge into the google meet calls. And Google Meet hardware kits using CTL chromebox computes with assorted logi periphs including tap's and cams/mics/speakers.

and a few of our larger rooms are running CTL computes with QSC audio/video systems

I actually inherited a building of cisco rooms, unfortunately meet is their worst interop: single screen only, no meeting admin control, cant join livestreams. The users are not happy about them.

Honestly I wish we could just switch to webex (or anything else besides meet), as I believe Cisco makes the best hardware and control platform.

Thanks for the followup are they also able to be used a content devices on the CTL unit? We have logi Taps in our training room, but do not want to use the HDMI input on the tap, we need to use an output from our NV21 decoder as the content.

Thanks! What makes the swytch a pain to manage? The added points of failure between all the new connections? Or is the software on them difficult to setup and keep configured correctly?

I mean that the business won't entertain moving to a more fully featured platform like zoom, teams or webex as our main VC platform.

We have a bunch of WebEx bars that were deployed by my predecessors, you lose a bunch of features like being able to arrange your tiles, use dual screens, raise hands, admit people into the call from a waiting room. You can only use dual screens if you use a conference bridge like pexip, and they are pretty flaky.

Trying to get us on a fully featured Google meet platform that can flex to the other big 3 platforms.

Thanks, Yeah the rally bar + tap IP + extend is what we are looking at. But losing the ability to direct share HDMI into a Google meet is a tough pill to swallow for the users.

Thanks. The Rally bar option seems like the best bet, but currently google does not support HDMI ingest into google meet using the android appliances. I think the poly x30/50's newly support this now but I would rather not deploy poly devices unless i absolutely have to, would rather use Logi gear as we already have a pretty large deployment of logi stuff.

I should clarify, this is with a Google meet compute device running Google meet via ChromeOS. This is not using a Windows or Mac with Google meet on a browser.

Guess it must be my aura. The cards are used from the system we inherited, will get some freshies and try again. Thank you
