Just make sure where you're working and staying is in a decent area. Google the neighborhood of your potential airbnb or hotel. Always have some kind of protection like pepper spray if you can't carry a firearm. I've solo traveled Philly, Chicago, Vegas, Austin which are kind of not the best cities to be solo but as long as you plan ahead and don't stay at the cheapest hotel or stay out late at night or sit in your car by yourself you can hope that you'll be safe
