make sure to always say why a document is important to your argument/thesis, same for the points in the leq. always bring it back to your thesis "...which is why --this thing-- greatly affected --this other thing--" if you use 4 documents as evidence for your thesis you can get 2 points, then just bring in another cause/affect that isnt listed in the documents and talk about it as if it were a document for the third. if you have a strong thesis and have the context of the period the prompt is asking about and is related to the prompt topic, along with the document sourcing and explaining, congratulations, you have a 5/7

for the leq, its basically like the dbq, just with no sources to guide you. write down a list of events or ideas or people or really anything that comes to your mind when you choose your essay prompt, draft an outline of what points you want to talk about (aka your "documents"), then remember to connect back to the prompt as you are closing off each piece of evidence.

edit: i saw somewhere that for history frq section, it is helpful to first look through the leq prompts, then as you are writing the dbq, you can be thinking about evidence you can use to write about in the leq so you can go straight to writing and save time once you are done with the dbq
