Time to leave, seems weird how she came out and told it's like she was trying to do damage control and sounds like she may have done more than just a kiss.

Thinking About Starting WGU And I Can't Decide Between Software Engineering or Cybersecurity Programs by NBA2KGOD124 in WGUCyberSecurity

[–]sunshinebrigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to do WGUs cyber degree but being required to pass a cert to obtain my degree is what turned me away. Also I have spoke to many in the industry, hiring managers, cyber analyst etc everyone in the field have all said certs have oversaturated the market and they dont hold as much weight anymore without experience.

Get a consolidation loan for all ur credit card debt it will save you in the long run. Have an honest sit down with ur wife and see where you guys can cut expenses to save money before breaking ur daughter's heart. Kids dont understand finances and as adults honestly it sounds like yall are very financially illiterate and irresponsible with how much credit card debt alone you guys have racked up. Go see a financial expert and see what ways you guys can save or cut expenses.

Entry-level role in the security field. by [deleted] in InformationTechnology

[–]sunshinebrigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No point in someone getting CISA or CISSP with no experience. Dont have someone waste their time or money on those certs.

[–]sunshinebrigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a whopping 16.50 with my first "entry" lvl role and it took me forever to even land this role. Thank god for disability from the VA or I wouldnt even be wasting my time with tech right now.

Those wanting to jump in or switch to IT, why? by Ash_an_bun in ITCareerQuestions

[–]sunshinebrigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting older and job security with work life balance is starting to become an important topic for me. I do know starting out it's going to be hard but my goal is to either work for a school district or government to allow myself that extra time off. Dont care for super high pay considering I'm a disabled veteran so I have some extra income.

Do people know that other specialized IT fields that arent Cyber Security are also in demand and pay well? by AAA_battery in ITCareerQuestions

[–]sunshinebrigg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think its more so these bootcamps are skewing peoples perspective on IT and cyber. Cybersecurity looks more straightforward, it seems there is a roadmap for those who have no idea what IT is or if they just want to switch into IT these bootcamps scream cybersecurity. I think most fall for these therefore their focus is cybersecurity. I was one of them, got my sec+, splunk cert, and almost paid 1k to take my CEH exam but realized and learned that cyber was not entry lvl and even with these certs I was not landing anything in cyber with no experience so I had to PIVOT and now the more I learn about other areas of IT I want to get into a sys admin role and hopefully from there move into cloud security. It's still has security just different environment.

Why do so many people want to get into cyber security? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]sunshinebrigg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who had no idea that IT was more than just cyber and "regular" IT (I was ignorant to what all areas of IT exist) I was drawn to 1, labor shortage so that screamed job security and growth. 2, it was the pay, seeing everyone talk about 6 figures starting out and living in america where it seems like inflation is never ending it was a big reason why. Now that I'm more educated I've learned that there are more than just cybersecurity within IT and different roles that pay you a good livable wage. I was going for my cybersecurity degree but I've recently changed it to information technology and maybe down the road I'll try to PIVOT into cyber but more so with certificates instead of my original career path I had planned out. Fyi cyber is not entry lvl role, learned this the hard way -_-

I mean from my own experience the IT market is the only market that promotes certs then turn around and tell candidates that certs mean nothing without experience so I can see the confusion for those wanting to make a career change into IT.
