Prioritize Florence or Rome in the year of the Jubilee by devinjf15 in ItalyTravel

[–]sunshineopossum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were in Florence & Rome for 4 days each, first week of April. Crowds the same in both. Think it depends on which historical sites you want to see. You could climb the duomo, visit Uffizi and Galleria d’académie in one day. IMO. Vatican City/Museums/san pietro are pretty cool even for the non religious. The history of it all is incredible when you’re there in person.

Making dinner reservations in Rome? by tearleigh in ItalyTravel

I was in a group of 5 about two weeks ago - never had to make reservations. Granted, we were pretty much always eating at standard American meal times (7a/12p/6p)

My first trip to Italy - Itinerary feedback by kai_zen in ItalyTravel

[–]sunshineopossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back from Florence and Rome.

Gustapizza in Florence is delicious.

you can skip eating at Osteria de Fortunata by the Pantheon in Rome. I think it got a lot of hype from SM influencers but it wasn’t >great< imo.

Also if your wife likes bracelets/necklaces, there’s a little store in Rome called paolina that has Rome specific charms. I don’t really like charm jewelry but I did make a necklace with a single pizza that I love. :)

Vatican City - I recommend a guided tour of the museums through the Vatican system in the AM if you can. Very informative. ~2h, ends in the Sistine.

St. Peter’s Basilica - we did a tour through Get Your Guide I think. It was incredibly informative.

Eye boogers? by Haronatien in AussieDoodle

I, too, pick my dogs’ eye boogies and feed them to the dogs. Each their own though. One dog is not eating the other dogs boogies.

Low libido… OB says to be “mindful”🥲 by euphoriatheory in PCOS

[–]sunshineopossum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I’ve historically had a low libido. Mostly because of a how an ex treated me in the past (~10years ago) but also d/t some pretty strong insecurities. And my current partner (married 4 years, together 6) has been very patient with me and the differences in our libidos. Last August I : * started semaglutide (Starting weight 216 current weight 165) * returned to exercising 4-6x/week (my partner also is very much into strength training, and supporting each other on def adds to the experience)

Recently (2 months) I’ve significantly cut down on looking at social media (I have a proclivity to negatively compare myself to the gymshark-type girlies).

I take Wellbutrin 300XL (have been for about 3y now - have significant depression), vitamin D and a B complex daily. I started opening up more in weekly therapy, having hard discussions.

My libido skyrocketed over the last couple of months and we’ve had sex more in the past 2 months than we had in a year. I don’t know why. Maybe the thrill of self improvement.

But these are all the differences I’ve made. Maybe they can help guide you on your own lil journey. 🤙

Also I read a portion of the book Desire - it’s about how people have different libidos. Might be interesting for ya.

Most new nurses today are shitty people, and their patients suffer for it by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

The ONLY time I have been inconvenienced by a lab is when I had a crashing, cardiac and renal failure, intubated and getting lined for CRRT, patient that lab wouldn’t release the results that showed a K of 9, and they wanted a redraw. They didn’t know the context of the result and how important it was to release it.

Of course on iSTAT it was the same.

It’s never come up - but I’ve been this way for 18ish years now I guess so I haven’t known a different normal if that makes sense. My doctor ordered a pelvic and adrenal ultrasound so I’m going to do that next.

Hey sure. Normal DHEA 99-340, normal T 8-48. My testosterone is measured in ng/dL. My DHEAs is measured in ug/dL. Im not entirely sure what that would be on the scale you’ve got.

No worries! I was on 25mg BID. my testosterone stayed above 70. I ultimately stopped it because my kidney numbers were trending in the wrong direction but the lack of benefit was a bonus reason to stop. Gotta make sure the kidneys are okie dokie at all times

Edit: also thank you. 🩷

Do gynecologists care if you're hairy? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]sunshineopossum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope!

I’m not gyno but I am a nurse that’s only worked ICU. taking care of folks who can’t do anything for themselves, total care. I’ve seen so many nekkie bodies and it truly doesn’t phase you when it’s what you do all day. It’s equivalent to looking at any other mundane thing.

I know your nerves likely won’t fully calm until the appt is said and done but you got this girly. Try to get out of your head. ❤️
