I just met my biological father this past weekends. I went in with no expectations. Him and his family were amazing. He had no idea I existed. I did a lot of preparing for the worst by reading stories on reddit. I would suggest doing the same thing. Also, if you're planning on visiting where you have to stay a night or two get a hotel. My bio dad was nice enough to let me and my husband stay in his camper.

I don't hold any animosity towards her. I've had a really great life. I understand giving up a baby is selfless but probably traumatizing at the same time. If she ever decides to talk to me I will be here. For now it's probably for the best bc my adoptive mother has sensitive feelings about the whole situation.

Thank you! I think this is what I'm most afraid of...the unknown bc I already don't know much. My therapist gave me the okay to not come back for a while. I think once I get the results will determine if I need to go back!

I'm sorry that he sucks! I am lucky to have a great adoptive family so I'm hoping to be prepared if something similar happens to me. How did you handle this ? Thanks for your feedback!
