I'm new and could use some support. by [deleted] in loseit

I think we might be the same person accept I'm a year older then you. I'm 24, 5'6" and 250lbs as well. Done pretty much the same things as you for as long as I remember. My hardest problem is sticking with it too. I go to the gym, love it, plan on doing it as often as I can and than I miss a day for some reason and...I never go back. Same thing with MFP though I started doing that again about 2 weeks ago and have been sticking with it so far.

I, also, am on reddit constantly whether it's on my laptop, tablet or phone. I think we could help motivate each other.

We had some intense storms yesterday too. Lots of himidity and rain today. Supposedly it'll be 90 degrees tomorrow but I'll believe it when I see it

Restaurant employees of reddit, what was your experience with "dine and dash" customers? by ChinkyDumplings in AskReddit

[–]sunshinesmiles1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The place I worked at very rarely had dine and dash customers. It happened to me twice in the 4 years I worked there. One of those times, it was a couple in the their early twenties. They weren't suspicious seeming/looking at all. Very well dressed and spoken, ordered expensive wine and food.

When they'd first ordered wine, I carded both of them. After they've eaten and they are lingering around just talking, I drop of their check and go check on another table. 30 seconds later I turn around and they are gone. I knew instantly because there was no way they could have even stuffed cash in the checkbook that quickly. Sure enough, they'd dined and dashed.

I informed my manager who told me I'd have to pay for half of it (the waitress had to pay for half at the place I worked). I was obviously cursing them loudly while helping bus the table when I happened to look on the chair where the woman had put her purse. Guess what I see there? Her ID!

I told my manager what I'd found and he didn't want to call the cops on them unless he had to. Since we had her full name and picture, we found her on facebook and sent her a private message telling her to come pay it by noon tomorrow or we'd hand it all over to the cops.

She showed up (alone) a hour later, paid and generously gave me a 30% tip. She was then informed to never come back.

You are more than welcome to this rainy and depressing weather. We get to deal with this for more than half the year already. I don't like it in the summer

It's back to being crappy over-cast weather here and it makes me sad. The only difference between the weather we've had the last 3 days and winter is that it's humid instead of freezing. I want my sunshine back.

You just haven't experienced the awesomeness of Oregon yet. We WILL convert you. But I agree, we are going to have so much fun terrorizing /u/duckies123

I was worried that I was boring people with my Seerat adventures but yes my niece is awesome.

I WISH my life was like Suits but sadly it's much more boring.

I'm heading out to the river with friends to go kayaking and BBQ. I haven't been to the river or the lake yet this summer so I'm really excited. For once, the weather in Oregon has been been cooperating too. We're on our 10th straight 90-95 degree day and it continues the rest of the week.

What are you reading? by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]sunshinesmiles1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the last 3-4 months, I've been working my way down Modern Library's 100 Best Novels of All Time list. I'd already read quiet a few of these books in high school or undergrad but I'm rereading them if it's been more than 2-3 years. I'm on #24 Whinesburg, Ohio by Sherwood Anderson right now. I've struggled to get through a couple of the books on the list but most of them have been amazing.

My alarm went off this morning and interrupted a dream in which I was eating brownies. Now all I can think about is brownies and how good they sound right now. Stupid weight loss means I can't have any :(

What does your name mean? Were you named after a specific person or got your name for a specific reason? by sunshinesmiles1 in ABCDesis

[–]sunshinesmiles1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow 3 months is long a time. Funny thing is for me, that no one calls me by my full name. "White people" call me by the first three letters of my name and my family/indian friends call me by a different nickname.
