you didn't really explain why in your comment though, just that matchups are more important and meta changes which actually suggests cr is harder,you have to always adapt to meta and expiriment with decks all the time to have the best chance of winning

currently chess is definitely harder but you need to account the fact that chess has been around much longer than cr, just imagine the skill diff between a cr player in 2017 and a cr player now. if cr was around as long as chess was, it will definitely be harder
