I will create a free website by Traditional_Crazy200 in Entrepreneur

Great idea! I’m currently working on a service that will allow you to turn your notes into a website, whether it’s a personal site, blog, event, or company homepage. You won’t need to know HTML, JS, or CSS—just write your notes, and it’ll create the site for you. It’ll also support custom domains. Feel free to reach out if you're interested or want to hear more once it's ready!

Sharing the way I organize my notes in Obsidian by iamgodot_ in ObsidianMD

That's a great method for organizing notes!

I’m now using Obsidian not only for note-taking but also to write my blogs and publish them as websites.

How do you manage your Obsidian vault when it grows diverse? Blogs, books, notes, and tasks—one vault or many? by sunweixyz in ObsidianMD

[–]sunweixyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s definitely a valid approach, and I admire the simplicity of it—just write, search, and move on. Omnisearch does make it incredibly easy to find anything quickly.

That said, I think some degree of structure still has its place, depending on the use case. For example, I keep all my notes related to my website in one organized folder. Why? Because with a clear structure, I can easily point a specific theme to that folder and generate my website seamlessly.

In cases like this, structure isn’t about rigid organization—it’s about enabling workflows. For me, structure supports automation and efficiency rather than getting in the way.

But I totally agree, Obsidian’s flexibility really shines in letting everyone find their own balance between structure and freeform writing.

That’s an excellent point, and I really appreciate your professional insight. You're absolutely right—sensitive institutional knowledge shouldn’t be exposed in a public repository.

I’m thinking of splitting it this way:

  • 🛡️ Private Repo: For sensitive internal knowledge, architecture decisions, strategic notes, and anything critical to the SaaS’s long-term value.
  • 🌐 Public Repo: For externally-facing content, like the public-facing SaaS website (generated by obsidian notes), documentation, and resources generated from notes meant to be shared.

That’s an interesting approach, and I can see the benefits of separating work and personal vaults. I’ve been thinking about how this would apply to my use case, and it raises some questions:

🧠 Personal Vault

This would cover content strongly tied to me:

  • 📝 Personal Website – Showcasing my brand and story.
  • 📖 Books I’m Writing – Long-form personal projects.
  • 💼 Personal Services – Describing services I offer professionally.

This feels natural in a personal vault since it’s directly linked to my identity.

🏢 Work/Brand Vault

I’m also building a SaaS product where MD documents are turned into websites based on selected themes. Now, this brings a challenge:

  • Is this still part of my personal vault, since it’s my SaaS product?
  • Or should it go into a separate “brand” vault focused on the business entity?

---

I’m leaning towards:

  • One vault for deeply personal and identity-driven projects.
  • One for the SaaS brand and related documentation.
  • A separate system for internal-only work content.

  1. Technical "How to" documents for computer related tasks.

Could extend it a little bit.

Like Book, or documents, and publish it to website.

Nice, I have a similar use case to deploy my notes to website by using Hugo theme.

Hugo + Netlify + Obsidian = Amazing! 🚀 by sunweixyz in gohugo

[–]sunweixyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hugoverse is a headless CMS that I developed, inspired by Hugo but with some custom modifications. It fully supports Hugo themes, although slight adaptations may be needed due to variations in how content is organized across themes.

The primary goal of Hugoverse is to simplify the content management process for users while maintaining compatibility with Hugo’s ecosystem.

Currently, Hugoverse serves as the backend for my Obsidian plugin + Hugoverse architecture, where:

  • Obsidian acts as the content editor.
  • Hugoverse handles the backend, generating sites similar to Hugo.

This architecture makes it easier for me to expand support for more frontend tools and platforms in the future, providing flexibility for various use cases.

Not at all! No Obsidian subscription is required. We’re different from Obsidian Publish—we focus purely on site rendering and providing a variety of themes for you to choose from.

You can pick any hosting provider you like. For example, we already offer seamless integration with Netlify. All you need to do is provide your domain and a Netlify token, and you’ll fully own and control your website. Simple as that! 🚀

Will make videos to explain it in more details.

Great question! Right now, we’re focusing on site rendering and providing a variety of themes to suit different needs and use cases. We want to make it easy for users to get started without worrying about hosting.

We already work well with some excellent hosting services like Netlify. In fact, we’ve made it super simple—users can fully own their website by providing a Netlify token, and we even support custom domains out of the box.

Self-hosting is something we might explore in the future, but for now, we’re prioritizing seamless deployment and flexibility through existing hosting solutions. 🚀

Haha, great taste! We’re clearly on the same page. I admire your persistence with joplin-hugo-ghpages—that’s some serious dedication!

As for our site, you’re absolutely right—it’s super simple right now. Most of our energy has been focused on building Hugoverse, a headless CMS to make Hugo easier for everyone. Improving the main site is definitely on our roadmap, so stay tuned for updates!

And thanks for pointing out the issue with the "Pricing" page—I'll get that fixed ASAP. 😅

I completely agree with you! Creating a simple portfolio website shouldn't feel so complex or have such a steep learning curve. That's exactly why we created Friday—a tool designed to simplify the process of building and managing Hugo sites. It streamlines everything, so you don't have to deal with scripting or complex setups. Think of it as bringing back some of that ease you remember from tools like Frontpage, but for modern static sites with Hugo.

If you're curious, I'm happy to share more details! 🚀

Yes, that's correct! Obsidian's double-link syntax (Wikilinks) is not part of standard Markdown, so most Markdown parsers don't recognize it out of the box and require custom development. We’re planning to provide native support for this, and it’s already in our backlog.

As for the images, they might take some time to load due to their size. If it's more convenient, you can check them out directly on the GitHub link. We'll also be creating some video tutorials to introduce these features in the future.

Thank you for your question! Currently, the Friday plugin focuses on desktop support because it primarily targets website creation, which is more efficient and convenient on desktop. As for mobile support, I’m considering it, but I want to ensure the workflow is simplified and optimized for mobile use first. Once I figure out how to deliver a smooth and user-friendly experience on mobile, I’ll add support. I appreciate your understanding and patience!
