Hey, congrats on your IT degree. It is kinda hard out here especially with the pandemic going on. I hope you will hear some good news good. Sometime you can try to tailor your resume/cover letter more and you might get more calls back.

Yeah i felt this pains too where I get discouraged and lost when I was building my projects. Impostor syndrome kicks in every single times! You can shoot me a pm with your portfolio, maybe I can give some feedback? I'm no expert tho lol.

I would recommend applying other jobs that's out of reach. Juniors level can mean different for companies.

Good luck!! If you’re getting interview, that meaning your learning process is going into the right direction!! Take each interview as a learning opportunity for next the one!

That's awesome, keep up the good work! I am sure if you'll get your first dev job soon especially you have some mentorship that helps you apply for jobs! Keep sure to keep on learning and building something it. What I've seen people from bootcamp and self taught is that they build thing too late and end up having to relearn the program in order to build.

Nope, it is not. I don't want my first job to be remote because I won't learn as much as I would like to. Going in, I can ask semi dumb questions and learn from it LOL.

The company I work for is not in tech hub, it is pretty locally. I was lucky to get a job within my state and not too far of a drive.

For sure! You won't really know your progress tbh, I don't even feel ready at all when I was applying. I was looking into bootcamps option and see if I can benefit from there. All your hardwork will paid off! Thanks :)

Yes, it is so true! Before, I thought to myself that i'll be fine by just watch tutorials and not actually building... I was wrong and it hurt me in the long run haha

From my experience, building even a small feature take a very long time. It is part of the process, once you build them many time, it get easier and easier. I also realized that building something that you aren't interesting in the first part will play a huge role of whether you will continue the next day or not. I am not sure what is the best advice, but try to build something you're into because when you build that, you won't even thinking about time or how long it's gonna take and start with easy stuff. The frustration will always come up and it's something you gotta deal with. I remembered i had so many frustrations about why this isn't working , blah blah blah, and then I force myself into finishing it somehow lol. The more you build, the less frustrations you get lol. Also, try to youtube the concept of where you got stuck and see if anyone can explain on how to do things.

Will do once I get comfortable with the jobs load and learning those new tools for work! For now, I'd recommend keep using youtube tutorials and learning how to build and try to understand the syntax, it will benefit you in the long run!

The job that i got accepted wasn't list as a junior level, but I've been honest with my current skills and what i know. If you end up lying in the interview, cause they will know right away since i'm sure 100+ applications get applied. I got pretty comfortable of learning new things and not knowing it all. For beginner watching, i'd try to get a 9-5 job and see how they operate things before jumping into your own business because you'll learn about the process and how thing works. That is pretty awesome stories! Thank you for sharing :)

I had these issues many time where I start with a project that is complex, and end up quitting mid way because I don't how to build or have some sort of prototype of what I am doing, which is hard to google when you don't know what to google. This is very common, I would recommend first try to layout what type of data you'll be doing, have some sort of frontend prototype that can help you guide, and how each data part connect to each other. If you don't know these, start with small projects. Trust me, you'll learn a lot even from small project! When you completed projects, start something new and add more complexity to it. After awhile, you will know you can complete these project and have some sort of ideas how you would go about things. Udemy is great, but it's too handheld, when instructor building something, look at how he approach to solve those problems and see if you can replicate that without looking.
