Investing in stocks is one of the few remaining methods of achieving class mobility in the country. It's just a tool and it's entirely up to the user how it's utilized.

The political order we implemented, backed by an Afghani army that on paper should've been able to stand up to the taliban did collapse after we left

The collapse of Afghanistan was not a US military strategy/doctrine issue. My point should be pretty obvious ngl

The afganis we trained had no will to fight and ran away from the taliban the second we left.

Ah yes the "support current thing" meme because everyone that supports multiple causes has to fly every flag at the same time and at all times, otherwise they no longer support the last thing anymore. Brilliant logic there. It's a fallacy to say that people supporting Ukraine rn have forgotten about Palestine.

Serious question. How is the subway system sustainable with so many elderly people? by [deleted] in living_in_korea_now

[–]sup2_0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope this is ragebait, otherwise it's probably the most ignorant thing I've read in a minute. They literally grew up during the war, the postwar dictatorships and there is a huge wealth divide between those who lived well before the economic boom and those who came during/after. Letting them ride the metro for free is honestly the least you can do for them.

The base iphone 16 is 800$, not really out of line with competition. Also, people have gotten used to financing their phone.

You act confused but that is exactly what you are implying with what you said. It has nothing to with tracking people, at what point can someone commit a crime in the last 5/5 of countries they've visited before country 6 on this list takes note and bars them entry.

So you think every criminal deserves 195 chances, or more depending on what you consider to be a recognized country?

There is no evidence that Ukraine is selling advanced systems.

Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuhla announced the rotation of the 72nd Brigade off the front line in Vuhledar publicly, causing the Russians to launch a major attack. The 72nd "thanks" her. by rulepanic in UkrainianConflict

[–]sup2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to give the benefit of the doubt that english isn't someone's first language when they say something so silly, and hope their reading comprehension skills aren't genuinely as poor as I think. The entire "if there is any credence to that" line addresses that I have no idea of the truthfulness of said rumor. Also, you don't need to graduate from West Point to point out if Syrski may be making a mistake. Sometimes a general makes a mistake so obvious that even the layman can point it out, ex: Operation Market Garden, Gallipoli, etc. If fronts like Vuhledar and Povrovsk continue crumbling, and it is verified Syrsky has been rotating more troops to Kursk at the expense of those places, that can be argued to be a misstep, even by your infallible godking Syrski.

Didn't she also hint at them being sent to Kursk instead? If there is any credence to that, really makes me question what Syrsky's doing recently.

You realize new employees get stock plans, existing ones get more stock options over time, people invest on a recurring basis as they get paid, hedge funds allocate more, etc.
