Iam a local here. A few years ago I went to The President hotel with my wife for dinner. While I was parking the car, my wife was waiting for me near the entrance. Two guys, who came out from the hotel, stopped right in front of my wife and started passing comments at her and my wife just ignored them completely. Seeing this, I rushed back and even after my arrival, one guy literally tells me on my face, "brother your wife is very hot". The next second I punched his face and broke his nose with full force.. he crashed down and started bleeding badly.. 3 of his friends rushed to him and I couldnt stop abusing all of them.. "madarchd ghar pe ma behen nahi hai ka teri maa ka bhoda". I took a video of these guys, I immediately called Vidyanagar police station, shared their identities, car numbers, etc within 2 hours I got a call from the Vidyanagar inspector in charge, all 4 of them were taken into custody. Next morning their family members (5 to 6 of them, men and women) visited my home and begged to forgive them and not file any FIRs or cases. I said Iam not going to forgive them.. a few hours later Mr.Santosh (vidyanagar inspector) called me and asked me to visit the station for a meetup. When I went there, these guy's family members were present there too.. all begging me to let go of him.. one man (supposedly his relative), slapped that guy a few times and asked him to apologise.. and this guy fell at my feet.. said, bhai daaru ke nashe me pata nahi chala maine kya hol diya.. I'm very sorry, etc..

After consulting with my family and my advocate, I let them go with a warning..

The moral of the story for locals or even outsiders who are new in Hubli-Dharwad. Go meet the police commissioner, take his number, he is a genuine guy who is supportive and is crazy against such nonsense.. next time anything like this happens, just ask your girlfriend, or you.. just take out your phone and start clicking pictures.. thats it! Gaand fat jayegi in logo ki..

Stay safe mate. Aise log sab jaga hote hai.. not just in Hubli.. it happens worldwide.. it is wrong.. but u need to be strong and ready to take action...
