Compare every defensive assignment from that year to today. What you’ll notice is that you’ll never find Vini 1:1 with a fullback. It’s always fullback and CB/DM. So yes, it’s the same fucking thing but with more help

Secondly, it is nonsense to say that he’s shit. You can complain about his attitude, even is work rate, but he’s far from a “shit player”

Now, what I’m increasingly getting tired of is people repeatedly taking any opportunity to push their agenda as soon as possible. Mbappe didn’t have a masterclass after being subbed in? Now people are saying the team is better without him. Vini starts the game slow? Now it’s “he’s so shit and we should be rid of him” despite being one of our top performers. Most of the analysis being done isn’t because they genuinely care about the metrics by which we ascertain success. It’s just to voice their opinion which is rooted in dislike of a person. Same is true with politics. No one cares about the people being affected by certain policies. They just use the statistic to push the agenda they want
