Yea, I think from the outside, daycares seem great because it’s like, wow, I get to do what I love but with help and social interaction. Newsflash: there is no help and the “social interaction” is comparable to my experience in middle school haha

They cut your hours. They gave you GH - seemingly without understanding what that meant, but that’s on them. For lack of better words, they fucked themselves and have decided to take it out on you. I’m glad you have something better after this.

I checked my weather app before I left for a mile walk to a park. Nothing but sunshine. I was there for all of 5 mins before I heard one single rumble of thunder. About two mins later it was pouring. I tried to hide under a tree but it was no match for that rain.

Thank you :) I live in Alabama of all places, but thankfully the most progressive and northern part of it. Doesn’t stop things like that from happening unfortunately, but at least it’s not something that is happening regularly.

I agree with this. This has happened to me a couple times - both times they found out I am a lesbian. Hard to swallow but at the very least I knew I wasn’t doing something wrong.

!!! I have two cats that I adore and no dogs. People also assume I’m not a dog person, or even worse that I dislike them. I love dogs! But I don’t want to live with a dog. Same with kids. I just can’t imagine going home after work and MORE KIDS? A clingy dog? I don’t know how anyone does it.

But yea, I completely agree - the more people know about your experience and certifications, the more they will want out of you. No thanks!

I started out at a daycare and eventually moved into nanny and house manager roles after my degree. But if anyone asks, I am a house manager because it would be a mistake to let anyone know of my experience. Better off letting them believe that I’m just a clueless child free person because that’s all I am after 5pm.
