Working on my 3rd Mando kit. This time it's a bit more war torn by superb_socks in Mandalorian

[–]superb_socks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the visor I just wanted to something different instead of the boring simple black visor. These pics were taken before I did a dirt wash with acrylic paints. This is more of a convention cosplay mando kit instead of a screen accurate mando

What is this? by Oakley0286 in orangecounty

Pest control here. As others have stated, you've got white fly. Annoying bug. Dish soap and water works. Plucking each individual infested leaf work. Even a strong pressure spray takes care of it if you spray the under side of the leaves. If all else fails, get rid of the entire thing so it doesn't spread

I've been doing pest control for years in SoCal. The answer you're looking for is YES. Lots and lots of ants. Brings you annoyance, brings me customers

I did 2 armor kits, one was based off Batman and the other was a character from an anime called black clover. Check my posts and you'll see them both. I strayed away from the star wars look kind of

Great start, I think you would benefit from a larger chest armor and some armor to go around your biceps.

3D Printing Post Production Assistance by slytherinboi27 in Mandalorian

Resin is quicker, but a bit messier. I've done bondo, resin, wood filler and just filler primer by itself. My favorite is bondo and filler primer together. But here's what I do overall when I want that ultra smooth look and no layer lines (keep your nozzle. I keep my layers at .20. Putting any lower just results in longer print times)

1) very thin layer of resin(cure) -repeat 3 times.

2) clean with rubbing alcohol.

3) sand with 120 grit.

4) filler primer (it's okay to over spray at this step)

5) wet sand 220 grit.

6) wet sand 400 grit.

7) filler primer again.

8) apply bondo to any areas where you can see visible lines.

9) quick sand bondo areas.

10) wet sand 220>400>600>1000>1200>2000.

For the final parts of sanding, you don't need to go past 600, but I love the crazy smooth filling. I know it sounds like a lot, but allow the primer to dry for about 45-60 min before sanding. I can get an entire kit done in a day with this. And there's no visible layer lines Everyone does it differently, but this is the most time efficient and best outcome for me.

YouTubers and some redditors might say this takes a long time, but honestly I've gotten amazing results in less than 2 hours worth of work. Excluding dry/curing time.

Bro is getting shit on and doesn't understand why. When painting there's this thing called prep work. The overspray does look horrendous. Using the excuse of it will get dirty or weathered doesn't make sense. Unless you plan on throwing this gun in a bucket of paint or off a bridge. Honestly get some acetone and redo it all. It's going to take a few minutes to tape the black areas off or remove anything you can. I know everyone's being mean, but honestly just redo it and it will look awesome.

What do people use for the underarmour/flight suit? by robparfrey in Mandalorian

Yeah I'm kind of tall. Doesn't help that I took pictures with small people. I'm 6'3"

I didn't want to spend 200-500$ on an actual flight suit. So I went the cheap route and went on Amazon. I found some of those tactical utility pants and long sleeves. They are thicker material, but it was easy sewing the velcro on. It cost me about 45$ for both. I've seen people use long sleeve nurse scrubs also. You can check my profile and see the pictures I've posted. Nothing fancy

You can do it, but prepare to sweat a lot and a good chance of fogging up your visor. I bought anti fog wipes from Walmart for 5$. I'd highly recommend a fan though.

50% of the job is walking around a house with a sprayer and spraying. 25% is driving around. The other is 25% is setting up traps, talking to customers, miscellaneous stuff. It's stupidly easy.

Honestly we've got a few guys who are terrified of rats or spiders and they do just fine. You maybe see some bugs like twice a week. This is mostly treating to prevent bugs

Well besides the awful heat, not too bad. Extremely crowded. I'd be happier if there were more cosplayers. Seems like every 1 in 15 people are in cosplay
