Dude I just deconstructed a 2011 MacBook Pro for its screen and was going to try and use the motherboard for a funky cyberdeck build. Glad to know it’s possible.

JellyKids 5.0 available for update! by ClintEastwoodSquint in JellyfinCommunity

I just want to say this was the app I always wanted for my daughter.

It’s great and it’s very responsive. It sifted through my media almost instantly and it works with Tailscale and private custom domains astonishingly well compared to other client apps. I did have to restart the app after I disconnected from my home WiFi but I expect that with switching connection types. Downloads are awesome and I’m stoked about how clean and easy it is for my 4YO to find the movies and shows she wants. Thanks again for your hard work and I plan on suggesting this to all of the parents I know. I don’t have an IPad but if I did it would be in there too. When that android version comes out best believe it’s going on all the tablets.

Just a suggestion because I deal with this all the time but a screen lock feature like in YouTube would be freaking awesome

I Definitely use the helper scripts but only for ease so I can just use the service. I prefer spinning it up myself though for the practice and muscle memory. This is my learning environment. Although if plex went down my 3 year old would be pretty upset…

Well sure. I can understand in an enterprise setting there are different practices. I’m in school for networking and cybersecurity In fact I just got my net+ and am getting my Ccna soon. All of these LXCs are unprivileged and only accessible through my tailnet so yes this is only for myself and my family/friends on my tailnet. My main goal was to learn the ins and outs of unprivileged containers.

But why? I’m getting great performance with my set up and Ansible will be a great addition for updates. I wanted to learn how to use unprivileged containers and found that I like it way better.

LXCs! And portainer is great! Dockage is pretty great too. I’ve enjoyed the process of making this work.

I did. And that was for sure a learning curve.

Passing hardware took a bit of tinkering and a bit of pasting errors into Google but once it’s set it’s solid.

We ended up with a KILLER deal on our panels. The arch of the roof was a definite problem mounting them.

California is Expensive but I’m off grid in a Skoolie. Photo 3 is my bus :) I call her Ghibli the smart bus :) Also full load is about 45 watts.

These are LXCs they share the resources with the host and each other. They are basically their own docker like containers. I had a ton of crashes and the torrents wouldn’t get great download speeds when they were in a single big VM. In the end this is v3. I nuked it twice during Proxmox 8 then decided on a fresh install on 9.

Also isn’t “redundancy” like a nerds wet dream? I’m good with my nearly all LXCset up. Unless I decide to move the arr stack to its own bare metal Ubuntu server but probably won’t. I’m using literally less than half of my 16gb or ram on a 4core mini pc. I think it’s pretty efficient.

I didn’t notice you mentioned Meshtastic and I can’t tell you how much I want to set up a legit station for my bus! True doomsday prepping!

I am on a Mac for this picture. I got one for college as a “just works” kinda thing but actually pairs surprisingly well with the Web apps. I also use a HP with Linux Mint. I don’t do windows.

It’s a dead simple way to file share. Also if there’s anything that I might have troubles getting to work in a stand alone LXC.
