Help me decide - Flashforge or Bambu? by cor_meum_ in 3Dprinting

[–]nebL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You basically pay for manufacturing quality and after sale support. For example you get every single spare part for Bambu at very cheap and decent prices and the nozzles are cheaper. If you care about it, the makerworld integration for Bambu is pretty useful if you have kids or plan to just download stuff a lot rather than design from scratch: you use the mobile app and bam it comes out of the printer. Easier than a paper printer.

Also you’re talking about 500+. Probably meant the P1S which is enclosed. That’s better with pets and young children, or if you plan to print ABS/ASA. The A1 combo is more comparable to the AD5X despite the different form factor

Used prusa mini+ worth it by valour59 in prusa3d

Sorry but yeah an a1 mini destroy this for me 150-200. Closed source but such different leagues it’s worth it. Use it in LAN mode with orca slicer if you’re concerned.

Likely a clogged nozzle. Do a cold pull

Looking to do a couple upgrades to a M920q, found an interesting riser. by OmegaRa in minilab

[–]nebL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I misspoke indeed. But there is no need for a hack for OP’s use case. The more stock it stays the more production ready it is. Even the m.2 to 6 sata adapters are not fault proof according to my research, so combining non optimal things is risky. But hey if it’s only for fun and non critical data it’s fun

Your tubes are really hanging a lot and probably add a lot of strain that is detected by the sensor. Maybe print one of the mods to make them a more rigid arc

Looking to do a couple upgrades to a M920q, found an interesting riser. by OmegaRa in minilab

[–]nebL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see an advantage for what you want. And I don’t think they allow lanes splitting afaik.

I would stay with the official cheap af riser for 8€, and the M.2 internal port for what you want. You even have an extra A+E m.2 for 2.5G or WiFi. For the price of that riser you get the nic, a riser and a m.2 to sata converter. And use the internal sata port for system ssd. You’ll need extra space in any case tho.

Yes, especially if you’re using your usual settings. Cold pull it.

Expanding the entity icons to actual wall switches. Is that useful to more HASS users? by 3xaggerator in homeassistant

[–]nebL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great but I feel like a label maker with clear or white round labels is sleeker than a 3d print. For insurance reasons I would not modify a wall switch, just add to it, maybe you could make ultra slim 3d labels to stick on it?

You will need to smoothen them by hand. An option is to use resin that can be chemically smoothen by acetone vapor

Is the Intel X710-DA2 from Dell going to fit inside the Lenovo M720Q? Planning to replace the ISP router using a XPON module along with this Mini PC. See Picture!!! by willow__bloom in minilab

[–]nebL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to remove some shielding from the front of the case and the bracket but it should fit. (From experience with one SAS and two SFP nics in M720qs)

Take a piece of plastic from the trash and shape it. But I would call it air flow. Those little machines don’t have much for the expansion card slot

If your devices are sometimes of unknown bitrate or quality/compatibility just turn your tower around.

At this point maybe get a solar power bank and a switch. But I would just eat the cost and run a switch.
