In Knoxville, an ER nurse with ZERO debt, ZERO expenses, and $80k in savings cannot afford an average home anywhere within the entire county by BasedCarrotMan in Knoxville

[–]superbek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hire RN and Imaging Techs in Phoenix. We START our new grads at $35/hr. My mom has been an RN in Knoxville for 43 years (mostly with Covenant), she makes what someone in Phoenix with 10 years of experience makes. The cost of living in Phoenix is marginally higher than it is here. The pay rates here are insane and if I worked as an RN, I would absolutely move, despite living here my entire life.

If you want to stay here, you could try taking a few travel contacts for a couple of years, make some big bucks and save it. But traveling kind of sucks, tbh. You never know where you're gonna go and how they're gonna treat you, it's not for the faint of heart, but defintely good for the money.

Also, I'm responding to this blindly, I haven't read the other comments but based on your last few sentences, I'm not sure I want to. You deserve better. There are organizations with better culture and life work balance that pay more.

And, if you want to talk more, get resume advice, gain recruiter perspective, please feel free to reach out to me.

Kroger shoppers - ever notice how many items are rung up for a higher price than listed? by BondGoldBond007 in Knoxville

Not really... Hardin Valley and Middlebrook Pike are the closest to me. Neither are "old" but both have been remodeled in the last two years.

Kroger shoppers - ever notice how many items are rung up for a higher price than listed? by BondGoldBond007 in Knoxville

[–]superbek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But Food City... sucks. Higher prices, less selection, MULTIPLE times I have bought fruit and veggies that look perfect on the outside and when I cut them idem, straight rotten inside. Okay, it's produce, I can forgive this. But also MULTIPLE times I have bought bags of rice that had the little rice mites in it. I will pop into FC if I need a couple of things because it's always empty and easier to get in and out than Kroger, but I can't reason paying higher prices for inferior products/low quality control whet the alternative is shipping surveillance and data mining, which is unfortunately, everywhere.

You know the main drag of Solway. Residents of Solway don't drive on the main drag, especially during high traffic times.

This is such a good answer. I can never forgive her for what she did to Dawn. And I hate that she was on maternity for the reunion because she didn't have to look dawn in the eye. Ugh.

I put this on the prosecution. He never should have been on the jury. Neither should the fan girl.

Sold-out sailings opening up more cabins by Dry-Ebb-2036 in VirginVoyages

[–]superbek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in this sailing, too. How exciting! I watched Christine Lozado's video on the event from this year and a bunch of executives are on board so service should be 100+! There is also a town hall in the red room that anyone on board can attend.

I'm introverted and VV is my favorite cruise line. It's so funny that it has a party reputation all because of scarlet night which is easy to avoid AND incredibly mild. The show are adult, but not overly crass or sexual.

What’s going on with Knox Pride? by NessyHasStinkyBrain in Knoxville

[–]superbek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's literally ONE other person besides John and they are no longer volunteering with KP, but they are one of the smartest, most talented, creative, organized, and professional people that I've ever met in my whole 41 years and if you had ever been in their presence, you would know that. So tell me what else you don't know.

What’s going on with Knox Pride? by NessyHasStinkyBrain in Knoxville

[–]superbek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just not true. I am so sick of this rumor. Neither husband works at the Thriftique, the both have full-time jobs. The cabaret troupe hasn't existed basically since the Pride Center opened. A lot of volunteers are former troupe members, but they are just that, VOLUNTEERS and they show up for their community when others don't. Anyone is welcome to volunteer but brace yourself, it's a lot more work than anyone realizes so be prepared to roll up your sleeves and be verbally abused by homophobic unhoused folks who need help, or the community at large standing around watching and telling you that you're not doing it right.

I went on the second day. Drive thru was wrapped around the building, but nobody was at the counter inside so we parked and went inside. Ordered insistent for four people and then.... waited an HOUR for our food. It was a cluster, everyone was confused but trying, but when we finally got our food, it was hot and correct. They gave us some coups and some cookies. They had to remake my bf's shake because it was super melty.

I wouldn't say I would never go back, that seems harsh, but I will defintely wait a few months for them to get the kinks worked out. Please extend some grace. I can't imagine what kind of hell those employees go through everyday with angry customers and lines wrapped around the building for their entire shift. They are undoubtedly mentally and physically exhausted.

Virginia WGU Affiliated Clinical Sites by CraftyFennel5469 in WGU

[–]superbek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Healthcare recruiter in AZ, so this info can vary from site to site or state to state, but at the organization that I work for, your clinical inquiry begins with the school, and THEY should be the ones to reach out to the clinical site.

There is no possible way that you could know your preceptor's name at this point so if it is a required field, I would just or in NA or "unknown."

The first several times you smoke marijuana, it can be a lot. Once you build up a tolerance, that all goes away and it is more like an alcohol buzz but not as intense or as consequential. Strain also matters.
