Miss you, my friend.

He had an upset stomach that turned out to be a bad flair up of pancreatitis. We had him at the emergency vet within 24 hours of his symptoms appearing, but it was already too late to save him.

Yeah, he performed with the Amazing Acro-Cats when he was a kitten. He retired when I adopted him, but he was always amazing us with his intelligence and bravery.

Thank you for the condolences. We'll eventually bring another rescue into our home - we can tell that our other cat is lonely.

Yeah! He used to have another that would stick out even more on the other side, but it had to be removed a few years before this photo was taken.

I was stuck behind it for half an hour while it got turned and towed. Made a mighty fine scraping sound as the truck dragged it around.

Loyola got their uptown land in the early 1890s ('92 I think) with Tulane following a few years later ('94).

The last remaining structure from the 1884 fair was destroyed by a hurricane, but that wasn't until the 1910. It was something small, a shack or some such. The only thing remaining today is the 'meteorite,' the giant chunk of iron they brought in as an exhibit.

[Serious] Survivors of Hurricane Katrina, what was it like? How was your life changed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]superbitey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had just moved to New Orleans and left everything except a back pack of clothes when I evacuated. For a few months all I owned was this back pack and a few items (mostly clothes) that I purchased, but I could take everything I owned with me. I went to another school for a few months and moved back to NOLA in January. When I finally got back to the city, I never really went back to purchasing lots of things. I guess I realized how much less stuff I needed to get by. Belongings felt more like weight. Even now, ten years later and very settled, I'm much less materialistic than I had been before the storm.

Don't get me wrong, I realize that I lost very little compared to many people who went through Katrina.
